We actually set out to go to Horma Canyon (Kastamonu).. Then it occurred to me. I thought I’d check where is this Stone Terrace. 10 km inland from the main highway. Almost on our way. Taş Terrace is located between Düzce Village and Sırçalı Village, 15.5 km from Karabük’s Safranbolu district center.. This is why it is also called Duzce Canyon or Sircali Canyon.

Following the Eflani/Bartın turn from Safranbolu, you need to turn left at the Yazıköy/Düzceköy turn from the first left sign.. After turning left from Düzceköy square, you proceed on the asphalt road.. After a little further, you deviate from the KOZCIĞIZ sign.. The road takes you to a village. Before you enter the village, you turn left from the entrance and start walking on the dirt road. Go to the end of the road and park in a suitable place.. We have to walk the remaining few kilometers.
We don’t know either where is this Stone Terrace? It doesn’t have any signage. I wrote it on the navigation it takes us. Phone in hand, looking at the map, we move forward. Luckily someone already marked it.. After walking 1-2 km, you arrive at the Stone Terrace in Sırçalı Canyon.
There is another longer road that comes here.. In fact, that road comes very close to the Stone Terrace.. Those who do not want to walk can use this road. The road may require a 4×4 vehicle or you may need a higher ground vehicle. Let the road be soil.
When to go to Stone Terrace?
You can go to Stone Terrace between April and October. It can be dangerous when it snows. Considering that it is dangerous even in normal times, it would be insane to climb on it when there is snow.. If you are thinking of going during the winter months, I recommend that you go by checking the weather conditions before you go.

Is the Stone Terrace dangerous? now let’s take a look at it.. Stone Terrace is at risk of collapse. That means death threat. In fact, it was like other cliffs here.. The Stone Terrace you see in the photos was formed when the rock under the Stone Terrace broke off.. This 100 meters high rock has created a really beautiful image.
Eocene aged (approximately 45 million years) Safranbolu formation is observed in a wide area in Safranbolu region.. The formation starts with pebbles at the base and continues towards the upper parts with carbonate sandstones, sandy limestones and nodular limestones.. If these rocks come one after the other, very beautiful geological structures in appearance and aesthetics emerge, while it can create problems in terms of wear-transportation and load-bearing.

There is a risk of collapse with the effect of gravity in the rocks that are emptied.. That’s why they pulled the wire fences and erected warning signs.. Someone cut those wire fences and made a way to pass.. I mean it’s dangerous. When I first saw this place on social media, there were tents built on it.. I was very embarassed too, but I think it might be one of the scariest nights to sleep there.
When I shared the photos of Taş Terrace, I received messages that there were people who found it very dangerous, and those whose hearts were in their mouths.. In fact, it’s like stepping onto your balcony while getting on top of it.. No missing guardrails. If you pay attention to it, there is no problem about climbing on it.. As I just wrote, the real danger is the possibility of collapse.. God forbid.
Is Camping on the Stone Terrace? Is it suitable for a caravan?
Is the Stone Terrace camping? Let’s look for an answer now. Maybe you’ve seen the photos with tents on the Stone Terrace.. Was that tent really set up to spend the night there, or was it just to take pictures? of course we don’t know. I know that camping on the Stone Terrace is prohibited, but. I think it would be beneficial not to do such a thing because of the possibility of the Stone Terrace collapsing.. It’s only a matter of time before flying down on a windy night.
Is the Stone Terrace suitable for a caravan? As I said, the road is dirt. quite challenging. If you can’t find the second way I said, there is NO way for caravans or vehicles to pass to the side of the terrace.. People who are self-sufficient with their caravan can camp at other points with a view of Sirçalı Canyon, but for those who are looking for a facility, this opportunity is not available here.
Stone Terrace (Sircali Canyon) Campground can only be the land behind the Stone Terrace. Since you are completely in nature and there is no facility, camping at Taş Terrace is not free.. Now let’s see what’s in Stone Terrace;
- There is NO market or restaurant in the vicinity. You must go with supply
- There is no fountain or stream. So NO water. You must take it with you
- No WC. You are completely alone with nature
- NO hotels, hostels. Camping is the only way to stay here
- Nearest village is a few kilometers away
- Internet is a bit bad
So camp here a little hard to do. If you say that I will take my food, carry my water, and carry as much camping equipment, do not forget that the region is Safranbolu Düzce- Sırçalı Canyon Wildlife Development Area.

Safranbolu is a touristic district of Karabuk. The distance between Karabük and Safranbolu is very short and you can reach it by minibus.. We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.

Gdansk’s Islands
I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.
This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!

I want to have a snack and rest now. Şso that I can have a little view so that I can both fill my stomach and watch the city
Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.

Time to enjoy sunny Gdansk. I pass the Golden Gate at the upper end of the Long Market and open to the modern part of the city.
There is a triumphal arch-like gate and another historical building behind the Golden Gate.. You have now reached the wide streets of Gdansk here.

A Little Out of the City, The Environment Is Different
There is a huge modern shopping mall right across the street. It is also possible to see socialist-style buildings when you go to a little bit further in the city. Gdansk dates back to different historical periods. It is a city that has witnessed it too.
I am now finishing my sightseeing in Gdansk.. You might think that this city is an atmospheric place anyway, and all its streets and avenues are special in general, so I say go everywhere

It was a trip that met my expectations. I had high expectations when I came to Gdansk and it didn’t make any profit. It’s a very different place, especially from Warsaw.. Let’s see, I’ll have trips to Krakow and Katowice next month…
