Krabi, located in the south of Thailand on the coast of the Andaman Sea, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.. Krabi’s center, which has many indented coves, islands and cliffs, is the town called Krabi Town.. A city that embraces both the mainland and some idyllic islands, Krabi is known for its unique limestone formations and lush vegetation.

The limestone formations are a magnet for both rock climbers and camera crews working for commercials, TV shows and film shoots. The town of Krabi is the main departure point for travelers to the beaches and islands of the city. Those north of Krabi Township find a temple, a hot-spring waterfall, and a sanctuary of wildlife. Krabi, which is an important center for going to the beaches, looks like the transfer center of southern Thailand with its connection to touristic destinations.

Krabi is located in a region rich in terms of places to visit. Ao Nang and Railay beaches are 45 minutes from the city center. Other nearby attractions include the Mangrove Swamps and Ko Klang Peninsula along the estuary, the Tiger Cave Temple at Wat Tham Seua, and Khao Phanom Bencha National Park.

I passed through Koh Phangan Island to Krabi.. The weather was perfect for the 4 days we spent on Koh Phangan. Although some days were cloudy, at least there was no rain. However, yesterday, the first day of 2012, it rained so much that we got stuck in the restaurant we went to.

There was good internet, so we took hundreds of Full Moon Party photos that we took in the last few days under the rain and storm, in the restaurant with water dripping from the roof. we arranged. Of course, we couldn’t pass without showing some frames to each other and laughing.. In the evening, we could not help but go down to the beach and join the party.

We had bought our ticket to go to Krabi from Phangan Island the previous day (600THB). After 5 days and 5 nights of partying, it was time to leave the island.. The taxi of the agency that will take us to the pier from the hotel we were staying at at 4:30 in the morning came and took it.. In the same way, even if you hire a motorcycle with a driver to go somewhere, they call it a taxi.. Drivers calling “transport, transport” in Bali call you “taxi” here.

After reaching the mainland by boat, they picked us up by bus.. We were in Krabi around 3 pm after a journey in the rain.. Signs on the road pointed to alternative roads as some roads were flooded.. However, the weather was fine in Krabi.. We bought a ticket to Krabi from the small terminal outside the city where the bus dropped us off (50THB). Half an hour later P in Krabi. We were at the Guesthouse (350THB).

Places to Visit in Krabi

We took ourselves to the pier to tour the city. A river flows into the sea in front of the town.. It has an amazing view. A few kilometers away, the view of the river passing between the steep limestone rocks rising on both sides of the river is remarkable.. We came across an offer from local fishermen offering boat tours at the pier (400THB). When we found 2 other tourists with us, we said ok (100THB/pp).

1. Krabi Town

Just a few minutes’ walk from Cha Fa Pier, Thanon Chao Fa has guesthouses and hotels, while Thanon Maharat is home to a large main market, many restaurants and shops. Across the Krabi River, from the mangroves to the pier, there are boats for hire, and a small fishing community lives in wooden huts built on poles. There are also two 100 m limestone hills rising next to the river among the sightseeing spots.. There is also a series of caves with impressive stalactites and stalagmites on one of the peaks known as Khao Khanab Nam.. The city, whose main source of livelihood was fishing in the past, is now one of the most colorful cities of the region with its vibrant tourism and trade life.. In Krabi, where tourist activity is experienced all day long, visitors prefer to have fun at karaoke bars and nightclubs in the evenings. There is also a small temple with a great view and a Buddha footprint on the rock. Southeast of Krabi Town is a hot water waterfall where people bathe in hot water and pass over rocks before diving into a cool stream. the last part of the rainforest, and also one of the habitats of an endangered bird called Gurneys Pitta.

2. Tham Pee Hua Toh Cave

Our first stop was at the cave called Tham Pee Hua Toh, which is just behind those 2 rising rocks.. Wherever I go, caves find me anyway. We immediately gave the branch in. You can reach the inside of the cave with carefully constructed steep stairs.. On the cave walls are black, red and brown wall paintings, some of which are geometrically shaped, thought to be 3000 to 5000 years old. shells found. Normally we had to go back as the cave visit was getting longer. When the fisherman asked if we wanted to extend the tour, we decided to extend it and go to the fishing village (50THB).

3. Krabi Fisherman Village

So glad we went. It was a place that I really liked.. This Muslim-inhabited fishing village consists of wooden houses built on stilts on the shore.. In front of one of them, pools were built on the river and there are all kinds of fish in them.

The most interesting of these was the pufferfish.. Top 10 in the list of the most poisonous fish in the world. Since the skin, liver, tissues and muscles of the fish contain a toxin called tetrodotoxin, it kills those who eat it within the first 24 hours.. More than 200 cases of poisoning are encountered a year, and an average of 40 people a year die because of this fish.. When you take the fish out of the water and take it in your hand, it starts to inflate itself.. As it inflates, the protrusions like hedgehog spikes begin to harden and become more pronounced.

All fish were introduced to us in turn.. While my traveler friend Bekran was telling him oysters, I thought I would research if there was an accommodation option in the village.. A homestay was offered 500 THB (30 TL) for 2 meals and accommodation which is a very reasonable price. The average price of food options in the village was also around 50THB.

There were two problems with my stay, one was my lack of seafood and the other was the lack of internet.. I will decide later whether I will stay or not.

After taking some amazing photos, we went back to Krabi centre.. After getting detailed information about what to do in Krabi from one of the agency, we bought the boat tour (1200THB), which is one of our purposes for coming here, where we can do rock climbing.

4. Railay Beach – Rock climbing
