Coron Travel Guide
Hello!
The travelers we met in El Nido always told us ‘El Nido is beautiful too, but Coron has a different place, it’s more We went to Coron with very high expectations because they said ‘other, more beautiful’ and bingo! Of course, people have something to know, especially free backpackers have something to know for sure!
Coron is now hidden in our memories, islets, untouched without land access coves, surreal environments that will connect you to Robinson and Friday, and a paradise island with thousands of shades of turquoise.
The famous Kayangan Lake, sunken Japanese ships, Speaking of lagoons and white sand beaches, we spent 4 full days in Coron.. Do not take El Nido, but if they say El Nido or Coron right now, we say Coron!
How to get to Coron
There are two options to reach Coron from El Nido. 4 hour fast ferry and 7 hour slow ferry. Since we bought tickets at the last moment, there was no room on the fast ferry and we had to buy tickets for the slow ‘ferry’.. Since the ‘thing’ we were waiting for as a ferry was a wooden boat with open sides, it was certainly not pleasant to go on the open sea for 7 hours with that ‘thing’!
Ferry tickets go on sale exactly one day before the ferry’s departure date.. If you want to secure your job, you can make a reservation by paying in advance to any tour agency in El Nido.. They buy the ferry ticket for you when the day and time comes, and you go and receive your ticket from the agency during the day.
The fast ferry departs at 06:00 in the morning and the slow ferry at 08:00 in the morning.
There is also a small airport in Corona. In fact, it’s the loosest airport we’ve ever seen in our lives…! Imagine that even X-ray does not work at the airport and the plane leaves early if all the passengers have arrived.. Our flight from Coron to Cebu took off 40 minutes early! We’re not talking about the fluttering part anyway.. We hope that there are not many people who have a fear of airplanes among those reading this..
Transportation in Corona is done with ‘tricycle‘ as usual. However, the tricycle drivers here are more open compared to those in El Nido, make sure to bargain.
Accommodation
Coron’s center is Coron Town because Coron is quite small. If you choose any hotel close to , you can walk everywhere. If you are looking for a resort-style place with a pool for accommodation, there are resorts a little outside the center of the island, but you probably need to ride the tricycle when you go down to the center.
We arrived in Coron 2 days earlier than expected and we had to find a hotel for 2 days at the last minute.. Without further research, we were immersed in the ‘Lan Bless Pension Hotel’ that first appeared before us.. Honestly, we hoped it would be good, as its rating is close to 8.0 on Booking.com.. But the room was not clean and there was no hot water system in the hotel.. Towel, shampoo, soap etc.. You’re already guessing that there’s nothing. We managed for two days since we only entered the hotel to sleep anyway, and on the third day we moved to the Coron Villa, which we had already booked.
Because we were already so smitten with the hotel we stayed in El Nido (insects) , we had an ‘Oh’ when we moved to Coron Villa, as we spent one night in a tent and stayed in a hotel we didn’t like for the last two nights! A room without insects, with hot water and working air conditioning, that’s what luxury is…(!) If you’re interested, you can check out the hotel here.. We paid USD 35 per room per night (excluding breakfast).
Places to Visit in Coron City Center
Coron’s city center is not a very cute place. Like El Nido, we can say that Coron’s event is the stops you reach by boat tours departing from Coron.. However, if you spend a day resting, you can visit the main places.
Mount Tapyas is a hill that you can reach by climbing (700-800 steps) for 20 minutes from the center and there is a very beautiful sunset here.. We took our beer and watched the sunset. It was beautiful.
Maquinit Hot Spring: Another feature of Coron besides its nature and beaches is that it has this salty hot spring.. We say it must have happened because the date we were in Coron was closed because it coincided with the Christmas holiday and we had no chance to go any other time.. Although, maybe it was inside us because it was closed, we did not know at the moment if we would like to enter the hot pool in 35 degrees weather..! If you still want to go, you can hire a tricycle driver for 500 pesos to pick you up, wait while you’re inside, and then bring you back.. Since Maquinit is outside the city, there is no tricycle at the door if you do not arrange it in advance.. Apart from that, if you know how to ride a motorcycle (you don’t need a license ). You can rent. what we talked about ranged from about 400-500 pesos. So you can travel without needing anyone. Think about it too
We asked if there is a beach in Coron that we can reach by tricycle or motorbike before joining a boat tour, but they did not recommend beaches close to Coron.
Coron Island Tours
Since it’s imperative to see everything beautiful while we’re in Coron, we took the most comprehensive and most visited boat tour…!
Boat tours in Coron as wellni, but generally 3 stops never change; Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and CYC Beach. Apart from that, Coral Garden, Green Lagoon, Point Reef and Barracuda Lake are also popular spots.

We took the tour called Coron Ultimate Tour where we will visit 7 points in total throughout the day and we paid 1400 pesos (28 Usd) per person.. Frankly, one or two stops were unnecessary and they fooled us by saying that the tour includes canoeing because unlike El Nido, there is no point to canoe in Coron.. We condemn that agency and we prepared words for him! Anyway…(they get offended)! You can take any tour, including Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Barracuda, even if you don’t see the other places, frankly, these are the thing.. If you are interested in reefs, you can take a tour that includes CYC Beach.
Lunch is included in tours in El Nido and Coron, and the meals are always the same. If you ask if the food is good, medium sugar. The food we ate on the first boat trip was very delicious to us, but it was probably because we ate it for the first time.. Then we did the boat tour for about 4 more days and the menu didn’t change at all.. Mushroom rice, mango, fish, shrimp, eggplant salad and banana. We haven’t eaten any of these 5 (except bananas) yet since we got back, I guess we won’t eat for a while…!

Barracuda Lake
strong> and Kayangan Lake were the last two stops of our boat tour, it was also our last boat trip in the Philippines and we really wanted these two lakes to be like in the photos as we will always remember the last places we will see.. Maybe you have felt by now that we do not like to exaggerate and make ‘janjanic’ sentences.. And, Kayangan Lake was ‘so’ beautiful…! It was very similar, and not at all like, the magnificent lakes we had seen before.. It was both very calm and very beautiful, what do we know, it was like it was very special.. We spent 2 more days in Coron after this Kayangan Lake visit but Coron is here for us. Let’s not say anything more, you see it with your eyes. Even though we had the 7 destination boat tour mentioned above in Coron the previous day, we still couldn’t resist and this is Coron’s famous We decided to join the tour called the Coron Escapade Tour, saying we should see the ‘white beach’. You tour Malcapuya Island, Banana Island and Bulog Dos Island all day on this tour. These three are referred to as Coron’s ‘white beaches. Picture a beach full of coconut trees leaning towards the sea, and that’s it! Maybe because we reached the ‘saturation point in the landscape’ the previous day, maybe you can stay on these beaches for a maximum of one hour and this is an hour. We couldn’t love this beach-to-coast business, as what you can do is limited.. Maybe it would be better if we went to one island instead and spent the whole day reading 500 pages a head.. If you have an extra day in Coron, you can consider this tour, but the priority should definitely be the tour we did the previous day. By the way, most of these tour boats look more like boats than boats, so don’t be surprised if you come across as such.. While we were returning with the boat of our tour, we saw a broken down and waiting boat-boat in the middle of the sea, and our captain, quite unresponsive, tied the boat-boat behind us with a rope and continued on his way.. What a surprise, a reaction! So, passenger boats that stand on their own in the middle of the sea are very normal, do they think that someone will come and save them?. We wouldn’t want to be in that boat anyway! We paid 1400 Pesos (28 Usd) per person for this tour. Above the sea under the sea If you like the more active life, you’ll love Coron too.. If you have a scuba diving license, you can dive into sunken ships from the Second World War.. In particular, the 120-meter-long sunken Japanese ship is very, very famous. Now, as we write, we think again, we loved Coron very much.. Besides, I think we liked it because it is such a touristic town, but instead of turning to the pleasure of the ‘white man’, it remains plain and as it is.. We hope that he will never return to a crowded city with a lot of noise and smell of fried food. In 2 years, too many new places have been opened that only appeal to tourists.. The operators are mostly European.. It is impossible to see local people here and these places feel a bit artificial.. You see a coffee shop, he sells a coffee for 6 Usd, but one meter outside his door, people work for 1 Usd a day… Anyway, let’s not get into that much, but this is what we disliked the most in Coron.. If you are an extremely sophisticated vegetarian, of course, but if you are a person with standard taste like us, you can easily eat at local places.. We didn’t like the head of a foreign operator in this Coron! Altrove Coron: The ‘I’ll definitely go to the #1 restaurant on TripAdvisor’ in El Nido was also present in Coron and TripAdvisor Even if you see the queue in front of this place, which is number 1 in , you don’t believe it.. Apart from that, it seems absurd to us that a pasta is 12-13 Usd in a town where people earn an average of 40 Usd per month.. Anyway, we don’t know much about gourmet or anything like that, but we got very annoyed here, we would have stayed inside if we didn’t write.. When we saw the crowd and the menu, we passed this place. Island Boy Grill, on the contrary, became our favorite place in Coron, where we accidentally dived and went the next night and the next night.. Both the food is good, the prices are affordable and the environment is very nice. We ate our dinners here. Buzz Express is again a place for tourists but where you can drink good coffee. Their food is very expensive compared to the Coron average, but we were so overwhelmed by Asian food that we couldn’t stand it one night and ate hamburgers here.. We paid a total of 36 USD for two burgers + two fries + two beers for two people. Epic Cafe is also a new third wave coffee shop opened in Coron.. Did we love it? Well…Coron Escapade Tour
Diving in Coron
As you can see, we didn’t take any risks in the evenings, as we were a little too hung up on this ‘foreign operator and stakeholder’ business in Coron, and we always went to Island Boy Grill.. We don’t think we missed much since Coron is not such a ‘gourmet city’ anyway.
After spending 4 days in Coron, we said ‘we need it on the passenger road’ and set off for Cebu!

Things to do in Plomari
The so-called ‘old town’ in the center of the town, which is one of the oldest settlements on the island, is where you can witness typical Greek architecture.. Two-story, bay window, mostly wooden houses line the narrow streets.. It is essential to enjoy walking among the historical houses on quiet and calm streets without traffic noise and to breathe the atmosphere of the town.
There are many shops, shops and coffee houses around the big plane tree in the city square.. After wandering the streets, it is quite enjoyable to relax, have a drink and chat with the local people.
The beaches, each carrying the blue flag, which are chirpy in the summer season, are an unforgettable experience for those who love sea, sand and sun holidays.. Agios Isidoros Beach is shown among the few beaches not only in the region but also in Greece.

Make sure to try frappe, one of the cold drinks consumed by the Greeks.. One of my suggestions is the Oceanis Cafe, where we sit to drink frappe with its stylish design.. Souffle is around 3€, waffle is around 4€, frappe is around 2€, Turkish (Greek) coffee is around 1.5€.. When you sit in all restaurants and cafes, a large glass of water is offered free of charge.. Get immersed in life by sitting in the cafes that stretch towards the beach and the port.
There are 3 different museums in the town that appeal to enthusiasts. Varvayianni Ouzo Museum, Lomari Isidoros Arvanitis Ouzo Museum and Soap Museum are must-sees to see the most important production tools for this town.. The hospitality and warm welcome at the museums make people happy.
Where to stay in Plomari
There are nearly 25 accommodation options in the charming town.. Among these places that can be preferred according to the budget and accommodation concept, there is also a hostel, a luxury studio.. How to get to Plomari

Plomari is 42 km from the center of the island of Lesvos.. Due to the nature of the road, this journey takes approximately 50 minutes by private vehicle.. In order to go to this town from Turkey, it is necessary to take a ferry from Ayvalık to Lesbos.. After the ferry ride that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, the port of Lesbos is reached.. There is a municipal bus service between Mytilene and Plomari that runs 3-4 times a day.. However, without the hassle of the city bus, choose a pleasant journey by renting a car and being included in the nature view.
Plomari with its unspoiled nature, friendly people, historical structures, magnificent beaches, ouzo, olive oil and soap >, one of the most beautiful corners of Lesbos. Those planning a trip to Mytilene should spend a few days in this beautiful town.
After our tiring and intense trip to India, we got out of the chaos and arrived in Nepal, where we said “oh there is a world”. We had a comfortable journey to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a 55-minute flight from Varanasi.. Nepal is 3 hours 20 minutes ahead of Turkey and 15 minutes ahead of India.

A person who has prayed has red paint on his forehead. When you see this, know that that person has prayed. Let’s not forget that the main element of flower worship. During the worship we witnessed in temples, they offer flowers to their gods and light candles.
We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.

But first, let’s list the must-haves and some information you need to know for those who are considering coming to Nepal:
Take a mask. Too much air pollution in the city. If you don’t want to walk in dust and smoke, take your mask.
Bring walking shoes. The roads are very bad and dusty.. If you don’t want your nails to get dirty, wear sneakers.
Those who come to Nepal by plane should get a free map from the airport.. The map you will get from the hotels is not very descriptive and guiding.
Visit the bookstores in the Thamel area. There is a wide variety of books, magazines and many products for anyone interested in books, not just travelers.
Buy LP-Nepal. If not, you can find it in Thamel.. But those who do not want to buy definitely need a guide in the temple areas.. But for me, the temples and the figures carved on the temple do not mean anything, if you only want to take pictures of them, you do not even need a guide.. They charge up to 100 rs from tourists, don’t give more than 25 rs. For your information! Locals don’t like discounts in Kathmandu.

Have dinner at Northfield Restaurant in the Thamel area.. There will be a pleasant dinner next to a cozy wood fire accompanied by Nepali music.

Gdansk’s Islands
I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.
This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!

Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.
