Dubai Travel Notes: The World From The 124th Floor!
I’m here with a brand new travel note! On the route of the day, there is Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which has become one of the most important destinations in tourism in the world in recent years.
Dubai Travel Route as I mentioned in my article, it was surprisingly formed After my visit to Azerbaijan, Baku, it’s time to set out for a whole new world today.
In my travel notes, places to visit in Dubai, my general city impressions and Dubai’ You can also find things to do.
Getting On The Plane That Will Take Me To Dubai / Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport
How To Get To Dubai ?
Friday, October 21. I wake up early in the day in Baku. My flight that will take me to Dubai leaves at 09:00.. Since we rented a car the previous day, it is not difficult to reach the airport.. After completing the pre-flight procedures, we take off from Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport with a large plane of Azerbaijan Airlines!
The distance I will travel today is approximately 1700 kilometers. Dubai is still a similar distance from the eastern borders of our country, and you have to travel 3000 kilometers in total from Istanbul.
Airline is the only way to reach Dubai today. Highway is not a good option due to the turmoil in the countries in our southeast.
There are frequent flights to Dubai from most major cities of our country, especially Istanbul. There are many airline companies, especially Turkish Airlines and Emirates, that fly directly between Istanbul and Dubai.. Fly Dubai and Pegasus also have flights. It is also possible to reach you by transfer, like me.. In this way, you can get the chance to visit different cities for free.
Flying Over Dubai
As our plane moves south, a different geography catches my eye through the window of the plane.. At first, the craggy and light-colored mountains gradually surrenders to a flat and sand-colored photograph.
Finally, in the company of the desert soil cover of Dubai, which resembles a sandy sea strong> our plane is landing at Dubai International Airport.
Now I would like to give a brief information about United Arab Emirates and Dubai.
Dubai Overview / Palm Islands and Dubai Marina Region
Where is Dubai?
United Arab Emirates (UAE), located in the northeast of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf coast. The United Arab Emirates declared its independence in 1971 with the withdrawal of the British from this region, which was under British and Portuguese domination throughout its history.. As you all know, the United Arab Emirates is one of the rich gulf countries with its oil reserves. The capital of the country is Abu Dhabi, one of its seven emirates, and the largest city is Dubai.
Dubai is located in the northeastern tip of the country.. Its population is around 3 million and it is the most important touristic, commercial and socio-cultural point of the country.. The city, which showed a great development especially after the 2000s, was almost completely rebuilt.
General View of Dubai / Burj Khalifa From My Visit
Now, it has become a source of interest for tourists with its extreme engineering examples, especially the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.. Dubai is now the 5th most visited in the world. city.
Does Dubai Require a Visa?
As for the visa issue, our country requires a visa from burgundy passports. You can get this visa only by remote application without going to the consulate for an interview.. After making a payment of around 600 TL, you enter the country with the printout of the document sent to you.. Official passport holders are exempt from visa for their short-term travels.
From the moment I get off the plane, the surroundings seem quite familiar.. I can say that Dubai Airport, which I frequently watch on documentary channels, is the city’s gateway to the world. There is a small metro inside the terminal when passing to the passport control hall.
New Arriving in Dubai / Dubai Airport
The passport control part was positive for me, frankly.. It’s a pleasure to be taken to the country by saying “Welcome” in Turkish !
Hiring a Car in Dubai
I’m going to collect my pre-booked rental car without wasting time. Since I have three close friends accompanying me on this trip, renting a car in a oil heaven country like Dubai is a must.
When renting a car in Dubai, I suggest you make a reservation in advance.. For the reservation, I preferred the big companies known around the world.. Even though I am used to Istanbul traffic, I took delivery of my vehicle with all-inclusive insurance because I knew that I might have problems in case of a small misfortune that may happen to me in a foreign country.
- Things to consider when renting a car abroad ?
Honda Brand Car we are renting / The Palm Jumeriah
Even though it says that I need a new type of license everywhere I searched without going online, I was able to rent it with my old license without needing any documents, so It is possible to say that our licenses are valid there as well .
City Transportation in Dubai
I should mention that Dubai Airport has a metro system for those who do not have the chance to rent a car.. There is already a subway in most parts of the city.. But I can’t say that the metro is very useful.
Dubai is a city spread over a very large area.. The areas where the metro is located are also limited.. In addition, the connection walkways of the metro stations are also very long. Even after you get down to the place where you say “There is a subway here”, you may have to walk a kilometer!
Dubai Subway
First Impressions
After going outdoors, it’s like a separate page for me.. After the cold Baku night around 10 degrees, the sun is burning! Dubai’s weather is very dry and hot, although it is the end of October, the weather is 35 degrees.
In addition to the heat, Dubai’s weather is also strange.. Although there is no cloud in the air, it is as if there is a light cloud.. The reason for this is sand and dust flying out of the desert. With these sands in the air, distant places are almost invisible and open spaces seem unclear.
I get behind the wheel and leave the airport. It is a little difficult to find your way by car in a city like Dubai, which is famous for its wide roads and highways.. We are determined to find our way with our offline map and gps !
Driving on Dubai Roads
Where to Stay in Dubai?
First, we go to the Emirates Concorde Hotel, which we booked and paid for in advance.. Our hotel stays in Deira District near the airport. Since we will have a vehicle, we wanted the place to stay closer to the airport and to have a parking lot.. But that doesn’t mean it’s far from the city!
You have so many options for accommodation in Dubai. Almost half of the city is filled with hotels.. As a result, prices are very reasonable.. In Europe, you can stay in luxury places for the same price as you can stay in a hostel.. Lots of options and the country’s general wealth has increased the quality in Dubai.. For those who have been before, we can compare Las Vegas here. There, too, the service sector was developed in terms of price.
Groups of 3-5 people like us may consider renting a suite as a house.. It’s as if we rented a house you know, a place of around 100 square meters with kitchen, living room, bedrooms.. You can cost less than 100 lira per person per night to stay like this.. Also there were so many other opportunities it provided to us, keep reading !
After changing and getting ready, I leave the hotel in no time.. According to the plan I made, we have a total of two days in Dubai.. We will devote the rest of the days we will spend in this region to the neighboring emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Deira Clock Tower I stumbled upon on the way to the hotel
With my vehicle from the Deira region we are in, I start advancing along the coast in a somewhat impromptu manner.. I said that the city is spread over a very large area, the coastline is more than 20 kilometers. Under these conditions, the idea of traveling most places by car makes sense.
The first thing that caught my eye was the fact that the seaside parts of Dubai are a perfect summer destination.. Even though I knew before I arrived that the weather was warm and the beaches were beautiful, there was a big metropolis in the photo that came to my mind when Dubai was mentioned.. But near the sea I feel like Los Angeles. Every place covered with houses with gardens, with a maximum of 2-3 floors.
Places to Visit in Dubai
The first thing we come across is the Jumeirah Mosque. This mosque is quite different from what we know with its architecture.. This mosque, which symbolizes a much more cultural part of Dubai than its renewed face, is definitely worth seeing.
The time is now approaching evening.. I have a great idea to relieve the tiredness of a tiring day!
Jumeirah Mosque
Is it possible to go to the sea in Dubai?
Since the time has come when the sun has lost its scorching effect a bit it’s time to throw ourselves to the beaches. You can swim at most points along the coast in Dubai.. The most well-known of these is undoubtedly Jumeriah Beach.
Jumeiah Beach is one of the most enjoyable places to swim in Dubai.. The depth of the beach inland from the beach reaches almost a hundred meters.. It almost resembles an ocean beach. In fact, it can be said that it is an ocean beach.. The Persian Gulf is one of the tributaries of the Indian Ocean.
The sand on the beach is vast and fine.. There are also free showers and changing cabins in the vicinity.. There is a wooden walking path just where the beach ends.. The beach is chirpy, especially in the afternoon!
Jumeriah Beach
I immerse myself in the atmosphere of Dubai while relieving the tiredness of the day here.. The sea is a great option to escape the hot weather.. Also I don’t need to say it’s clear and clean I guess. Only the temperature of the water is a little high. In such a climate that is hot all year round, it is necessary to meet normally.
Burj Al Arab – Yelken Hotel
As I look at the sea on the beach, I come across a wonderful surprise on my left.. One of the world’s most iconic structures, Burj Al Arab i.e. Dubai’s Sailing Hotel salutes from afar. I say from afar, but it is so big that I am actually at one of the ideal spots to watch and photograph it.
Burj Al Arab is a cornerstone for the renewed face of Dubai, the construction of which was started in 1994 and completed in 5 years. I can say. With a cost of 650 million dollars, it is the most expensive in the world, and it is among the most important engineering structures in the world with its location and architecture.. This is the world’s first seven-star hotel and one of the undoubted symbols of Dubai. In addition, its sail-shaped design fascinates people.
Jumeriah Beach and Yelken Hotel; Burj Al Arab / Dubai’s Buhulu Air I’m Talking About
The sun is going down now. You can watch the sun set over the sea from Jumeirah Beach.. This is one of the world’s most beautiful sunset spots. We are now on our way to our hotel.
On the way back, I stop by a small supermarket right next to the hotel.. I have to say that the prices are in general terms in our country.. Only certain products have exorbitant prices. One of them is Potato Chips. A package of potato chips that we know from our country is sold for 20-30 liras. After buying some products that we can make practical meals from here, we go to the hotel.
What to Eat in Dubai?
I wanted to specifically touch on this subject.. We cooked our own food at home together with supermarket shopping. In this way, we were able to eat both economically and deliciously as we are used to.. The fully equipped kitchen in our room helped us a lot!
Me at Jumeriah Beach / The Setting Sun and Burj Al Arab
United Arab Emirates and Dubai do not offer rich food options. So there is no Dubai Cuisine that can be said to come here and not come back without eating this.. Most of the restaurants in the city are also expensive.. While we would pay 30-40 liras for a meal in an average place, we managed to reduce it to 2-3 liras.
Our long day in Dubai, where we arrived today, is not over yet. Now we’re on our way to evaluate when the city is at its busiest!
You know it’s extremely hot in Dubai.. As a result, the city is lively at night.. Most places are open 24 hours.. Now we are heading towards Downtown Dubai Area which will excite me the most.
Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa Overview
After leaving the hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai’s main highway I’m going to . Driving here is also a pleasure.. It is possible to see plenty of luxury vehicles on the roads of Dubai.. However, speed limits and rules are strictly enforced.. For example, there are designated spots to change lanes on most highways, except for these areas, changing lanes may result in fines.
I’m speeding on Sheikh Zayed road, the scenery is really amazing at night.. There are so many skyscrapers surrounding me here I am impressive even to my body that was in Manhattan 1 month ago. Burj Khalifa is more clearly visible on my left. At this point, I leave the highway and enter the Dubai Mall Parking Lot.
One of the first things that comes to mind when Dubai is mentioned is shopping. There are many Shopping Centers in the city called Malls.. In fact, these malls are a part of tourism with their designs and activities.
Inside Dubai Mall
Shopping in Dubai
Now I am at Dubai Mall, the most important shopping mall in Dubai . Dubai Mall is located in the heart of the city and next to the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.. Since we got out of the parking lot, I’m visiting the mall first
First of all, I have to say that if you come here for shopping you may be disappointed. In the globalizing world, there are similar prices wherever you go.. I can’t find many affordable things in Dubai either.. Speaking of clothing, there are usually stores of very expensive brands.. If you prefer luxury clothing, you can get some discounts, but there is nothing attractive for an average dresser in Turkey.. Most brands’ prices in Turkey are more affordable.
I can say that electronic prices in Dubai are at the American level. They are approximately 20-30% more suitable than our country.. You can often see big electronics stores in shopping malls.
Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain
Burj Khalifa
After touring Dubai Mall for a short while, it’s time to go outside, the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa .
To see the entire Burj Khalifa from this point you have to push your neck! It’s so high it’s simply stunning. Also, being able to examine this building with the naked eye is of particular importance for me, who is studying Civil Engineering.
In Turkish, the Burj Khalifa Building is the main symbol of Dubai today.. This building is now recognized wherever you go in the world, and its height symbolizes the strengthening image of the Gulf States. storey. Built for an astronomical amount of $1.2 billion, this structure is one of the last points that engineering has reached today.

Dubai Light and Fountain Shows
Burj Khalifa There is a large pool park with the same name around. In the middle of this pool is the original name The Dubai Fountain. Light and fountain shows are held 365 days a year in front of Burj Khalifa, which is integrated with this fountain.
A new show begins as I fall under the spell of this atmosphere. I’m watching this beautiful moment without blinking my eyes. You can come to Dubai just to watch this view in fact !
There are many places you can explore on foot around Burj Khalifa. Burj Plaza and the delightfully decorated restaurants will definitely interest you.
My time is approaching 12 at night.. It’s time to go back to the hotel and rest for a while.. Today I have completed some of the places to visit in Dubai. But there are still so many places to see in Dubai. Now I’m falling into a sweet sleep !
Dubai Fountain and Pleasant Restaurants and Cafes to the Left During the Light Show
Saturday, October 22. I wake up early in the morning. We have a nice breakfast without wasting time. Menemen is for breakfast today! You know how I solved the food issue in Dubai.. It’s great to start the day with a good taste that we are used to.
Today, I will first go to the top of the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. Yesterday I was content to just look down. Now I want to watch the view of Dubai from the top.
I get ready quickly and get behind the wheel. Now Dubai’s roads are more familiar. I arrive at Dubai Mall parking lot in just 10 minutes. You can reach Burj Khalifa from this shopping center.
124 of Burj Khalifa.
How to Buy Burj Khalifa Tickets When Going Up / From the Elevator?
You need to buy a ticket in advance to get to Burj Khalifa. You can buy tickets here. 124 and 125 called At The Top. The amount you have to pay for the floor is 130 AED. The highest point you can climb is 148 named At The Top Sky.. cruise floor. It costs AED 350 to get here. I think it’s not worth the difference 124.
You need to set your time before buying your ticket.. I bought a ticket for 10 am with my travel plan months ago.. You you can see even more beautiful views at sunset and evening hours!
124 of Burj Khalifa. When you come to the entrance of Dubai
Burj Khalifa from its floor, you are in a good mood.. There are year-by-year progress models of the building and information about its construction around the road you proceed up to the elevator.. In terms of engineering, I had the opportunity to get good information before I even left.
I’m getting on the elevator now. In fact, I’m used to such a situation, since I went to the penthouse of the Rockefeller Building in New York just a month ago.. But this time higher !
124. Above Floor
124. View of Dubai from the Floor
Burj Khalifa’s private elevator takes you to 124th floor in just seconds.. The view I saw from the moment I landed is indescribable.. Most of the buildings that I describe as skyscrapers from below are tiny here.. Cars are picked like ants. You can see every part of Dubai down to the smallest detail.
Because the Burj Khalifa view terrace is completely covered with panoramic glass, it is possible to integrate with the landscape.. Since it is morning hours, the reflection of the shadow of the building looks beautiful.. The artificial islands in the Dubai Marina District, which I will visit in the afternoon, and the general desert cover of Dubai are also more clearly distinguished here.
Me Watching Dubai from the Top
After taking lots of photos and watching, it’s time to go down.. Now I have Souk Madinat Jumeirah on my route.
We head south about 10 kilometers from Burj Khalifa. At the end of the turn towards the beach, we are now at the Madinat Jumeirah hotel.. This is one of the most famous hotels in Dubai.. Don’t be fooled by what I call a hotel, it is one of the must-see spots in Dubai.
Burj Khalifa’s 124. Madinat Jumeriah, consisting of completely artificially created canals and desert-style buildings, also includes a shopping center.. Contrary to the ordinary, this shopping center reflects Dubai and this climate exactly in its design. There are dozens of nice restaurants and cafes around the canals.
This place also reminds of an amusement park in design.. It already has the Widi Wadi Waterpark right next to it, where those who have time can visit.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Cooling in Dubai
My watch is showing 1:00 in the morning.. It’s so hot outside it’s impossible to stay in the sun for even a few seconds. After spending some time in the beautiful canals of Madinat Jumeirah, you need to cool off in the shopping center immediately.. However, the dimension of cooling in Dubai is also different !
What did I try to say? Air-conditioned environments are the only way to cool off in Dubai.. However, the air conditioners here seem to be set to the coldest.. Most shopping malls and indoor areas it’s so cold you can get cold here. I even had to walk around Dubai Mall in my long sleeved top that I brought with me the previous evening!
Souk Madinat Jumeirah Canal
After cooling a bit then i browse the channels in more detail. I haven’t mentioned the most beautiful feature of this place yet!
Madinat Jumariah is located next to Sailing Hotel Burj Al Arab that I watched from afar on the beach last night.. From here, you can now examine and watch this building down to the smallest detail.. It’s also a pleasure to take pictures with the beautiful view of the canals.
Burj Al Arab and Me from Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Artificial Palm Islands
It’s time to move further south of the city. Now, there is the artificial Palm Islands of Dubai, The Palm Jumeriah, which you all know from documentary channels.
The Palm Jumeriah is an archipelago created artificially in a way that you cannot find in the world strong>. Its construction was started in 2001 and completed in 2006 after 5 years of work.. The island is known in the world as Dubai Palm Islands since it is designed like a full palm tree on the map. With this island, Dubai’s coastline has been increased significantly.
The Palm Jumeriah ( Palm Islands ) from the sky / Burj on the right Al Arab
You must have a car if you want to visit this place.. Because there isn’t much to go around on foot and the island covers a very large area.. After the first bridge you reach the island, there are hundreds of villas in the arms of the palm to the right and left.. You can’t reach these arms without a host.
We’re moving straight ahead. On the outermost part of the island, which covers the palm, there is a walking path along the coast and world-renowned luxury hotels.. The most important of these hotels, of course, is Atlantis Hotel.
Atlantis Hotel at the End of the Road / While Progressing on Jumeriah Island
When you first enter Palm Island, you can see the pleasant view of Atlantis Hotel from the farthest.. This building is among the important structures of Dubai.. In addition, the first hotel in this region. A building so tall that you can see it clearly even when driving by. There is also a theme park right next to the hotel.
I am now at the outermost edge of the palm where the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel is located.. This is the best spot to watch Dubai Marina view. After taking lots of pictures, I am now leaving the Palm Islands and heading to Dubai Marina District.
Dubai Marina District and Me from Palm Islands
Dubai Marina District
Dubai Marina
strong>, I can say it is a second central point of the city.. There is a large canal in this area. Around this canal, dozens of skyscrapers built almost side by side. Most of these skyscrapers are at least 50 stories high.
You can see many large and small marinas and luxury boats around the canal.. The inner canal area of Dubai Marina is so different that you feel like you are a hundred years ahead, just like in the movies. Everything here is extraordinary, from boats to cars, from buildings to bridges!
The highlight of Dubai Marina is undoubtedly “JBR Beach Dubai“.
Dubai Marina General View from the Sky
Dubai Beaches
JBR Beach is the most private beach in the city in my opinion.. Because the skyscrapers around the beach are almost in the water. They are so close and so high that it is better to watch this view from the sea instead of watching the sea from the beach!
There are many cafes and pleasant beach clubs around the beach.. There is a really warm atmosphere here.
Parking a car in Dubai Marina is a bit difficult.. Although there is a parking lot in the very center, this place is quite expensive.. I chose the parking lot of the shopping mall in this area Dubai Marina Mall. From here you need to walk about 1 kilometer to the beach. But this road is another beautiful one!
JBR Beach Dubai
We are having a snack for lunch at Dubai Marina Mall. There are shops of world-famous food and fast-food chains here, and their prices are reasonable.. There is also a huge supermarket just below Dubai Marina Mall.. Unlike JBR Beach, which looks expensive and luxurious, everything is very convenient here.
The location of Marina Mall is also beautiful.. It is another thing to be immersed in the view on the part of it that you can think of as a viewing terrace.
The most enjoyable hours of the day have come now.. I’m at a beach again in the evening. This time JBR Beach. The sea is still beautiful. Here after entering the sea and watching the sunset it’s time to return to the hotel.
Where is the Dubai Apple Store?
When returning from Dubai Marina to Downtown Dubai, my advice to you is the road. You can also visit the Mall of Emirates on the. This is another famous spot of the city.. The Apple Store Dubai Store, which is especially popular for people coming from Turkey, is also located here.
Inner Canal Zone by Marina Mall / Dubai Marina Walk
Sheikh Zayed Road on the way back i am in. The night view here is incredible.. even touring by car on this road in Dubai can be considered a touristic activity.
We are now arriving at our hotel.. After this point, I have completed the places I plan to visit in Dubai.. I think it’s a short but sufficient tour. I managed to see most places in Dubai by using my time well.
If I have to evaluate it in general. Dubai is one of the most different and new places you can see in the world. Whatever cities like New York, Hong Hong, Sydney, Singapore mean to me, Dubai is an important city in this way.. For people who go to Europe often and are bored with the same things, this is a unique spot!
How is the Dubai Climate?
Also, Dubai is under a hot climate all year round. Even in the coldest months of our country, you can come and swim here.. And you can reach here with a flight that is not too long, only 4-5 hours.
I’m Posting a Day Photo Due to Sheikh Zayed Road / Bad Night at Night
Is Dubai Expensive?
As for the price.. Your spending in Dubai is entirely up to you.. This is the center of world luxury society. You can see the most luxurious restaurants and hotels in the city, and you can even pay 10,000 dollars a night to stay here.
However, there are many options for those who want to travel economically.. You can save a lot of money by not eating out like me.. I spent less money here than most of my European trips. Moreover, this is a country where the tank of a petrol car is filled for 40-50 TL! You have unlimited freedom to travel by car.
I recommend you to have your money in American Dollars or Euros before you go.. Exchange offices may not accept Turkish currency everywhere. Or you can travel without using Dirham like us.. Since most places accept debit cards, I paid more like that.. In this way, I have overcome the currency translation differences with the least damage.
Dubai Nightlife
I think the subject of nightlife and alcohol is a curiosity.. Nightlife in Dubai is not very colorful. Only ultra luxury and expensive nightclubs are available. alcoholic beverages are quite expensive here, too.
Seyh Zayed Road and Its Surroundings in the Top Photo, Only 25 Years Ago
It is not possible to find alcoholic beverages throughout the city, but they are served only in elite places.. However, you can buy drinks at affordable prices when entering the country from the landing terminal of Dubai Airport.. And you are strictly forbidden to consume these drinks in public places!
How Women Should Dress in Dubai
I should also mention about clothes for women. Contrary to popular belief, Dubai is a very globalized and western culture.. Most of the people in the city are tourists anyway, and you won’t have any problems with clothes. I think Turkey is more problematic in this regard, even !
It’s just interesting that there are some bans. For example, in shopping malls, it is forbidden for women to dress too revealingly and holding hands. Is it applied? No. But at least there is such a sign.
As for people,. The city has tourists from all over the world.. Especially the number of Russian tourists is quite high. This made me feel as if I was in Europe in most places.. In any case, the majority of the local people are people from other countries who come and stay here to work.
Dubai Marina District
Cities to Visit Around Dubai
We came to Dubai, where should we go around and what can we do extra? Having come all the way to Dubai, at least I feel obligated to go to Abu Dhabi. This neighboring emirate is at least as famous as Dubai and contains engineering examples worth seeing.. You can reach here in 1 hour by car from Dubai.
Another neighboring emirate is Sharjah. Actually this emirate is almost united with Dubai. You can also explore this place in one day.. The airport in Sharjah can also be used to reach Dubai, there are also flights from our country.
Those who have more time in Dubai can visit dozens of theme parks in the city and go on desert safaris. Since we have a car under us, we sometimes got away from the city by car and experienced the desert experience ourselves.
Of course, Dubai is a city that is developing day by day and gains new touristic spots.. Most of the points I am telling you about today were not here until 10 years ago.
I Am From The Top Of Dubai
What to Buy in Dubai?
Finally, what is worth buying from this city? Especially around the airport, there are shopping shops that are open 24 hours a day.. These shops are huge.. There are so many interesting products. However, I cannot say that these stores are of very high quality in terms of clothing.. I purchased models of Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab for my collection.
I am ending my Dubai trip impressions here.. It was quite a long and comprehensive post.. In the article, in addition to my general impressions of the city, I also told the moments that excited me and the extra situations that happened to us.. I hope it will be useful as a guide to your Dubai trip.
I will be heading to Abu Dhabi tomorrow for the last leg of my trip, which I call the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan.. I will share my travel notes there soon.. Have a nice day all of you !

Ouzo’s Birthplace Plomari, Mytilene
Greece‘s greenest island Lesbos owes its green nature to water resources. Lesbos, the third largest island of the country, has lush forests, water springs, tiny canyons, endemic plants and incredible mountain views.
The island’s second largest city, Plomari, is and places that manage to stay away from the negative effects of urbanization due to its geographical location.. When you say the second largest city of the island, Plomari is not a city-like place.. The size that we can call the largest town or seaside resort in Turkey.. With its scattering mountain villages, the population of 7 thousand finds it difficult.
Plomari Square
With its pristine beaches, historical wooden houses, small taverns, plane and olive trees, coffee houses and views, Plomari journey is one of the best options to get away from it all.. No matter how crowded and active the center of Lesbos is, Plomari experiences the opposite.
The birthplace of Barbaros
As Captain-i Derya, the first captain of the Ottoman Empire Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, who was the pasha and the great admiral, was born in Plomari in 1473.. Although there is no trace of Barbaros in Plomari, this name is very important for the history of the seafaring town.
Akrasi, Ampeliko, Megalohori, Neohori, Paleohori, which is known as Plomaritohoria on the south coast of Lesbos The town, consisting of the villages of Plagia, Trigonas, has a strategic location.. Dominating Chios in Greece and Karaburun in Izmir, the town has a deep-rooted trade tradition.
Beautiful photos can be taken in the side streets of Plomari
The place where ouzo and olive oil soap were first produced
strong>
Within the Greek islands, 19. Turning into one of the most important centers of industry, commerce, production and maritime trade in the mid-century, Plomari is also the place where the Greek national drink ouzo was first produced.. Today, just like raki, the quality of ouzo is measured by the water used.. Since Plomari has the best quality drinking water sources in the geography of Greece, the aroma it adds to ouzo is noticed everywhere.. There is no production today, except for a few ouzo workshops.. Plomari, with its beaches and cultural tourism, is a region where European, American and Turkish tourists spend more time in high season.. Since it is not very well known, the region, which is not crowded and uncomplicated, is ideal for those who want to relax and have a peaceful holiday. Ouzo, which he throws, is consumed in a similar way in coffee houses today.. Drinks thrown together while playing backgammon or chatting with friends accompany the pleasant conversation.. Unlike Turkey, the coffeehouse culture in Greece also includes the offering of liquor.
ouzos produced in Plomari
Because of the ouzo production, it is between Lesbos and Plomari. there is serious competition. What makes the cute town one step ahead of this competition is the quality water source and the qualified anise grown in the region with aromatic plants.. It is possible to count Pitsiladi, Yannaçi, Varvayani and Plomari/Isidoro Arvaniti among the ouzos that have become brands in the town.
Things to do in Plomari
The so-called ‘old town’ in the center of the town, which is one of the oldest settlements on the island, is where you can witness typical Greek architecture.. Two-story, bay window, mostly wooden houses line the narrow streets.. It is essential to enjoy walking among the historical houses on quiet and calm streets without traffic noise and to breathe the atmosphere of the town.
There are many shops, shops and coffee houses around the big plane tree in the city square.. After wandering the streets, it is quite enjoyable to relax, have a drink and chat with the local people.
The beaches, each carrying the blue flag, which are chirpy in the summer season, are an unforgettable experience for those who love sea, sand and sun holidays.. Agios Isidoros Beach is shown among the few beaches not only in the region but also in Greece.
Oceanis Cafe
Make sure to try frappe, one of the cold drinks consumed by the Greeks.. Iced coffee, which is prepared by adding milk and sugar according to preference, is available in cafes and coffee houses in every corner of the town.. One of my suggestions is the Oceanis Cafe, where we sit to drink frappe with its stylish design.. Souffle is around 3€, waffle is around 4€, frappe is around 2€, Turkish (Greek) coffee is around 1.5€.. When you sit in all restaurants and cafes, a large glass of water is offered free of charge.. There are 3 different museums in the town that appeal to enthusiasts. Varvayianni Ouzo Museum, Lomari Isidoros Arvanitis Ouzo Museum and Soap Museum are must-sees to see the most important production tools for this town.. The hospitality and warm welcome at the museums make people happy.
Where to stay in Plomari
There are nearly 25 accommodation options in the charming town.. Among these places that can be preferred according to the budget and accommodation concept, there is also a hostel, a luxury studio.. So before you go, decide exactly what kind of place you want to stay.. I stayed at Frini Studios on my trip to Plomari. There is a special 10 percent discount for Keşfetsek at the property that got full marks from me for its hospitality and approach.. Check out my Frini Studios post for discount details and a closer look at the facility.
The Mytilene-Plomari Road
How to get to Plomari
<
Plomari is 42 km from the center of the island of Lesvos.. Due to the nature of the road, this journey takes approximately 50 minutes by private vehicle.. In order to go to this town from Turkey, it is necessary to take a ferry from Ayvalık to Lesbos.. After the ferry ride that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, the port of Lesbos is reached.. There is a municipal bus service between Mytilene and Plomari that runs 3-4 times a day.. However, without the hassle of the city bus, choose a pleasant journey by renting a car and being included in the nature view.
Plomari with its unspoiled nature, friendly people, historical structures, magnificent beaches, ouzo, olive oil and soap >, one of the most beautiful corners of Lesbos. Those planning a trip to Mytilene should spend a few days in this beautiful town.

Nepal Arrival
After our tiring and intense trip to India, we got out of the chaos and arrived in Nepal, where we said “oh there is a world”. We had a comfortable journey to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a 55-minute flight from Varanasi.. Nepal is 3 hours 20 minutes ahead of Turkey and 15 minutes ahead of India.
From Victoria Subirano’s book named A teacher in Kathmandu so that you can get an idea before you come to Nepal. you can watch the movie “A Mirror in the Sky” which he freely inspired. It is the film that reveals how the education system in Nepal works, poverty and mysticism.
Kathmandu is located in the valley at the confluence of the Vishnumati and Bagmati rivers.. There are dozens of temples hidden between its streets.. While it is difficult to breathe from the exhaust fumes in its narrow streets, it is certain that you will discover many things in the company of colorful shops, peddlers, bookshops and local people.
A blend of 2 religions, It is very possible to see that Buddhism and Hinduism coexist in the country where it is intertwined, and this unity is reflected even in objects and temples.. Whether Buddhist or Hindu, everyone can easily perform their daily rituals according to their religious beliefs.. There are enough temples in the city. Someone who goes to work or wanders around the streets completes his prayer by ringing the bell in the tiny temple on the street and applying the red paint inside the temple to his forehead.. A person who has prayed has red paint on his forehead. When you see this, know that that person has prayed. Let’s not forget that the main element of flower worship. During the worship we witnessed in temples, they offer flowers to their gods and light candles.
We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.
We wrote the details and places we visited in separate sections to be more descriptive.
But first, let’s list the must-haves and some information you need to know for those who are considering coming to Nepal:
Take a mask. Too much air pollution in the city. If you don’t want to walk in dust and smoke, take your mask.
Bring walking shoes. The roads are very bad and dusty.. If you don’t want your nails to get dirty, wear sneakers.
Those who come to Nepal by plane should get a free map from the airport.. The map you will get from the hotels is not very descriptive and guiding.
Visit the bookstores in the Thamel area. There is a wide variety of books, magazines and many products for anyone interested in books, not just travelers.
Buy LP-Nepal. If not, you can find it in Thamel.. But those who do not want to buy definitely need a guide in the temple areas.. But for me, the temples and the figures carved on the temple do not mean anything, if you only want to take pictures of them, you do not even need a guide.. They charge up to 100 rs from tourists, don’t give more than 25 rs. For your information! Locals don’t like discounts in Kathmandu.
. If you are going to shop, know that they sell you exponentially more expensive.
Although not everywhere, 25% tax is charged in many restaurants and cafes.
Have dinner at Northfield Restaurant in the Thamel area.. There will be a pleasant dinner next to a cozy wood fire accompanied by Nepali music.
Entrance fee to all Durbar squares.
Kathmandu Durbar Square : 750 rs.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square : 1100 rs.
Patan Durbar Square : 500 rs.
Eat jujudhav yogurt in Bhaktapur. We should have paid 25 rs for 3 yogurts, but because we are tourists we paid 150 rs
Eat Daal Bhaat. It’s like Indian Thali.
Eat Momo. A dish resembling a tibetan dumpling. Vegetable, buffalo meat, chicken options are available. A little spicy and bitter.
During the time we were in Kathmandu, we made kora in Buddhist temples, translated mantras and sent our wishes to the universe in the fastest way, we worshiped according to God in Hindu temples :), We photographed the most beautiful examples of Newari architecture, followed closely the funerals of the cremated dead in accordance with Hinduism, practiced their rituals, respectively, Svayambhu Mahachaitya (Monkey Temple) temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Bhaktapur, Changu Narayan Temple, Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares. Gdansk Travel Notes: Better Than Poland!
There are some places that I came across somewhere and noted down and I couldn’t wait to go… Here is such a special route for me in Gdansk
I have been on my master’s degree for almost a year. Since I live in Brescia, Italy, I plan to visit various cities in Europe in combination.. I chose Gdansk first and said I’d go to Norway from here, to Alesund…
Gdansk Overview / Famous “Pencil Houses” of the City
My Plane Could Not Land in Gdansk
Here come the time, I went to Alesund and even got on the plane to Gdansk on the way back!
Oh what a plane ride…
While getting on I knew there was 55 km/h wind in Gdansk but I guessed it would be okay. But we couldn’t land on our first try, it passed, the plane was rocking like a cradle!
I Shared Those Moments We Couldn’t Land in Gdansk on Instagram @gorkemliyollarcom
An airstrip I was on for the first time in my life he had to pass, luckily the pilot managed to land in Gdansk on our second attempt…
It wasn’t a very good start, but I’m welcome Poland
Trying to go to Gdansk Glowny <
Finally Gdansk!
If the plane landed so hard, you should also think below, it’s as if I don’t come from the Norwegian fjords but went there, it’s so cold, wind, rain all together…
Since I got off at 10 pm anyway, I’m in trouble to go to my hostel and sleep You can actually reach the center directly from Gdansk Walesa airport by bus. But the buses after 11 o’clock leave at a different station called Wrzeszcz, and from there you reach the central Gdansk Glowny train station by commuter train.
That’s exactly how I got to the city and my hostel, but thanks to the Polish, who helped me while I was waiting for the bus. Thanks to a college couple…
Hello Gdansk / My First View in the City / Going to a Hostel
About Gdansk
Good morning from Gdanks!
This is Poland’ A city located on the Baltic Sea in the north of. Actually I visited all the Baltic countries and I loved it very much, but they said to Gdansk that this is Poland, you are not exactly Baltic
I mean this is Poland but Gdansk I think It’s even more beautiful than Poland…
Morning Hours / Walking By Motlawa
I’ve visited the capital Warsaw before, but now Gdansk is getting me pretty excited, let’s see what we’ll see…
Since my hostel is located at the northern end of the city, I also start walking from the riverside towards the center.
Yes, Gdansk is a typical Baltic city… I say that this city also has islands, rivers and plenty of water
strong>
Too Much Wind, But Not Without a Selfie
The Spirit of Gdansk: Motlawa River
Our River is Motlawa!
If I follow the Motlawa river, Gdansk’ It means I can almost completely tour the city. Because the city consists of this city and the small islands it surrounds.
First of all, when I come across a beautiful Gdansk text, she says OK. um I’m in the right place…
I Love Those City Names You Must See Me To Understand The Wind…
The Famous Cute Pencil Houses of Gdansk
The first thing I want to tell you in Gdansk is actually Houses that make up the unique architecture of this city.
In fact, although you can see similar ones in other cities of Germany and Poland in general, the ones here are more characteristic.. Thin and long, crooked, colorful houses like pencils!
Famous Pencil Houses of Gdansk / I Found This Name If I Found It In The Sun From The Tip, A Selfie Immediately…
And to the bottom aren’t they built?
Sweetly narrowing the top floors…
I admit that I saw the aerial view of these house-filled streets and fell in love with Gdansk and I thought I should see it. . Yes, maybe I won’t be able to see it from the air, but I’ll still see it.
“The top floors, which narrow down sweetly…”
There Could Be A Modern Building Without Destroying The City!
But here it is one thing to visit and see another photo of it.. The photos did not have modern siblings of these typical Gdansk houses either!
Yes, as a civil engineer, I noticed the modern buildings in Gdansk from the very first minute. Because the modern structures here are “we are modern” They don’t smirk They went and built with a nice modern interpretation of architecture similar to their old brothers.
I can’t say I’m not impressed with this work, Gdansk can still be visited after 50 years…
Modern Gdansk Houses I Like Very Much, There Are Some More Futuristic As Well… These Also Provided a Nice Transition / Modern-Old
Is Crane One Of The Attractions In Gdansk?
Now by the riverside While walking on the promenade called “Deptak Nadwodny”, I see one of the first things that come to mind when I think of places to visit in Gdansk.
What is that Crane?
Interesting place in Gdansk Crane The River And The Crane Look Better Here
Yes “Crane” is one of the interesting structures in Gdansk. This used to be a crane building used to load ships. If I said old, of course.. century is quite old The original state is destroyed, but the current one is worth seeing.
There is the Black Pearl of the pirates of the caribbean a little further ahead, there are nice photos, try it here…
Black Pearl is also here <
Like the Harry Potter Scene: Mariacka Street!
I’m diving down the river into Mariacka Street now
Mariacka at first sight became my favorite place in this city!
I feel like I’m on the street where I’m going to choose a wand for Hogwarts. “Hagrid, where do we get the wand?”
Can it be without a photo Mariacka Street
In Gdansk, you can feel an interestingly slightly British air; mysterious buildings painted in a depressing style, staircases in front of houses small courtyards and magnificent artistic details…
These small courtyard houses on Mariacka Street are boutique shops! Local products, gifts or jewellery, whatever you are looking for. All meticulously furnished with excellent details, this place can be studied for a few hours.
Magnets Here from the Map Detailed Shops in Mariacka Are So Sweet
Across the river side of the street, the huge St.. Mary’s Church…
Undoubtedly, it is one of the most magnificent buildings in the city, you can go inside and have a look at it.. Mary’s Church Is Also Visible
The Rain Follows Me
Just at that moment I’m being caught in the rain!
If it rains, I have a solution; raincoat and my umbrella…
Now it’s time where the heart of Gdansk beats; Long Sunday!
Long Sunday With Shaking Rain
Long Sunday
Long Sunday ie Długi Targ is a classic Polish style market-square. I don’t know why these guys built such thin and long squares, but it happened
As the name suggests, this is a long market area. If I said market, it means small peddlers and generally the shops lined up along the square, better if I say square…
Long Market / Długi Targ
You can see the most beautiful of the typical cute pencil houses of Gdansk that I mentioned in the Long Market.. The ones here are a little more historical and have wonderful decorations.
Also, I think the most eye-catching structure of the square is Gdansk Town Hall.
Gdansk Town Hall with its golden inlaid tower and legendary beauty. The clock may be the most magnificent structure in this city!
The Long Market and the Magnificent Gdansk Town Hall
Gdansk, the City of Gates
My market is at one end of the street, the Golden Gate is at the riverside end there is also the Green Door…
I forgot to mention; Gdansk is the city of gates
You can often see these gates in the old city centre.. It is generally built like 2-3 storey private buildings and has arch-shaped openings from the inside and you enter and exit the square and the street from there.. Especially the Golden Gate is another beautiful one, don’t miss it…
I’ll be visiting soon The Golden Gate / The surprise is gone! The Sun Is Clearly Opening The Gates of Gdansk: This Green Gate by the River
Is it a Rainbow?
And these gates are rain shields for me! Because I’m stuck at the door leading to the river from Long Market, it’s raining heavily
But a few minutes later, “the sun?”
If there’s rain and sun, let the rainbow come !
My Rain Shield Behind the Green Door I Watch Gdansk with Rain and Sun; Delicious!
Things suddenly turn upside down in Gdansk, it’s sunny now
The weather in the city has really changed with the sun and rainbow. Those depressing houses have turned into bright spring colors, now It’s time to wander the streets and take photos a lot.
The Rainbow Has Arrived Can I Pass Such An Unforgettable Moment Without A Photograph? This Is The Back Side
Gdansk’s Islands
I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.
This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!
Here’s the Island for You Just Kidding The River Divides A Wonderful Street I Discovered, Find It “Poland’s Candy Sweets pastry desserts of all kinds”
“The cafes of this city are very nice”
I want to have a snack and rest now. Şso that I can have a little view so that I can both fill my stomach and watch the city
Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.
I Need to Have a Rest and Eat Something / “Pakejk” Gdansk
Time to enjoy sunny Gdansk. I pass the Golden Gate at the upper end of the Long Market and open to the modern part of the city.
There is a triumphal arch-like gate and another historical building behind the Golden Gate.. You have now reached the wide streets of Gdansk here.
Gdansk Became Another Beautiful When The Sun Comes Out The Golden Gate I Just Mentioned Gdansk Houses Also Shine Differently!
A Little Out of the City, The Environment Is Different
There is a huge modern shopping mall right across the street. It is also possible to see socialist-style buildings when you go to a little bit further in the city. Gdansk dates back to different historical periods. It is a city that has witnessed it too.
I am now finishing my sightseeing in Gdansk.. You might think that this city is an atmospheric place anyway, and all its streets and avenues are special in general, so I say go everywhere
The Other Side of the Golden Gate and the Starting Point of the Modern City, The Shopping Center Just Opposite the Long Market , Trams and Wide Streets A Little Beyond the Shrin You Can See These Types of Buildings Now Some Gdansk Travel Tips!
