Eastern Black Sea Travel Guide: Artvin, Trabzon, Rize
“A city passes through your life and your color changes.” If they had told me to describe the Black Sea in one sentence, I think this would be the best way to describe it.. Black Sea cruise is one of our holiday plans, so make your plans a reality and don’t be late to get to the city where you will change your color.. In order to help you, I start the Black Sea as a Black Sea travel guide in 3 parts as Artvin, Trabzon and Rize.

How To?
Hiring a car is the fastest and most comfortable method, but if you are going to rent a car, you should definitely choose a high car, the roads are stabilized.. I went in May 2018 and car rental prices ranged between 200 – 250 TL per day.. You can choose airport offices to rent a car, but it is better to call as early as possible and make an appointment, because SUV-style vehicles are very popular, so they sell out quickly.
If your budget is lower or on the roads If you can’t trust yourself, I recommend daily tours.. You can visit the must-see places by staying in the center of Rize and participating in these tours.. The daily tours are around 50 TL and the tours generally depart from Trabzon and Rize.. You can also visit Artvin and Trabzon through these tours.

How long to stay?
Black Sea travel guide. You should carefully arrange how long you will stay in which city.. If your travel plan will be Artvin, Trabzon and Rize like me, one week and ten days will be enough.. I think it can take 2 days to Artvin and Trabzon and 7 to 8 days to Rize, of course it’s a matter of taste.
What to wear?
Because the Black Sea is rainy in all seasons, I advise you to keep your umbrellas and raincoats with you. There are also very beautiful waterfalls where you can cool off, so if you are going especially in summer, keep your swimsuit in a corner of your suitcase
ARTVIN PLACES TO VISIT
- Çifteköprü, Mençuna Waterfall, Karagöl (Borçka) and >Deliklikaya Waterfall For me, Artvin was one of the must-see places first.
I hit the road in the early morning.. Since I spent one day in Artvin, I was aiming to see these 4 places, as it turned out.
There is Çifteköprü on the way to Mençuna Waterfall.. The roads up to Çifteköprü are beautiful, but then the difficulties begin.
After parking your car to go to the waterfall, a half-hour walk awaits you.. But when you encounter the scenery, you forget the way you walk and your tiredness.

- There are 2 Karagöl in Artvin; Savsat and Borcka. Şavşat is quite far away, so my choice was Borcka.. There are camping areas, you can have a picnic or tour the lake among the magnificent greenery with boats.
- Deliklikaya Waterfall is connected to the Murgul district of Artvin.. The navigation is not guiding correctly, so I suggest you go by asking.. The water flowing from the eroding rock, that greenery, the fact that it has not been discovered yet, its silence, its calmness impressed me with everything.. There are tables where you can picnic, but there is no social facility, so I recommend you take your food with you.. Again, after parking your car, a 5-10 minute road is waiting for you to walk

THATS TO WATCH IN TRABZON
- Sumala Monastery: Unfortunately, under renovation until August 2018, so I just looked at it from afar. If you go after the renovation is complete, the entrance fee is 25 TL. If you have a Museumcard, it is free.
- Uzungol: The first place that comes to mind when you say Trabzon.. I can say that it was one of the 2-3 places where the roads are comfortable and do not scare me.. Unfortunately, most of those who go to the Black Sea do not prefer Uzungöl because of its latest situation; because it has become concrete and extremely touristic and has lost its natural beauty compared to the past.. But while you’re here, don’t go without looking at that view from above, you’ll regret it.

Where to Eat in Trabzon & Restaurant Advice
- Bordeaux Blue Fish Restaurant: I’m a Taurus woman, actually I’m very fond of my throat. But since I am very fond of traveling, I forget to eat while traveling I recommend Steamed and Salmon Skewers.. I, who prefer deep-fried fish, couldn’t resist when I saw the steamed fish, I ordered it and it was really amazing. If you eat homemade rice pudding or pumpkin dessert on top of it, you’re okay
- Trabzon Kalkanoğlu Rice: You should definitely try dry beans-rice and roasting. You are buying rice by gram. Yes, you heard it right, it has a war-time story.. PLAYS TO VISIT RIZE
- Micron Bridge: Do not forget to stop by Mikron Bridge on your way to Ayder.
- Ayder Plateau: Unfortunately, disappointment was the only thing I felt when I saw Ayder; it was commercialized and overcrowded. Fortunately, I can say that it is the plateau with the smoothest roads in Rize.. Go see it, but don’t set your expectations high.
- Zil Castle: A castle with a perfect view on the way to Palovit. Who knows what experiences, what memories it contains.. Entry is 3 TL
- Palovit: Ah Palovit.. I fell in love with a rock, I fell in love with water, I fell in love with green, I fell in love with nature again.. If you’re lucky, this magnificent place awaits you with the rainbow.
Ayder Plateau, Rize
- Çat Valley: Quiet, calm, yellow flowers, greenery, mountain view.. What else does a person want?
- Elevit Plateau: The Famous Bridge. There’s not much else but the bridge, so would I recommend you go? Absolutely yes..
Other Places to See in Rize
- Pokut Plateau, Gito Plateau, Flowery Plateau, Huser Plateau should be seen if you have time in my opinion.

Where in Rize What to Eat & Rize Restaurant Recommendation
- Don’t go to the Black Sea and don’t come back without eating muhlama without making a cliché sentence It’s in almost all restaurants, but if we say where to eat muhlama, my favorite place is Rize’ Dağmaran Restaurant in Küçükçayır Village and Memişoğlu Facilities in Küçükçayır Village.
- It is not possible to return without eating fish, of course.. I will take you to Oilta Fish, which is also in Rize.. Roast Pickles, Salad, Fish and Hamsikoli are still in my mouth.
- Now I have rice pudding that I love very much.. I don’t recommend a place in particular because it was beautiful everywhere, I just loved the rice pudding here, which even overshadowed my mother’s rice pudding (my mother will be angry ). - Camlihemsin sides are generally preferred for accommodation in Rize. I can say that Ada Pension and Tosi Pension are the preferred boutique, lovely, full photographic areas of Serender Hotel in Ayder Plateau.. The nightly price of these hotels varies between 150 – 200 TL.
I changed 4 hotels in Rize. I’ll leave the rest to you, whichever you prefer, boutique or luxury. : A clean, quiet hotel in the center of Rize. The breakfast menu seemed a little limited to me.. (Price 150 TL per night)

Things to do in Plomari
The so-called ‘old town’ in the center of the town, which is one of the oldest settlements on the island, is where you can witness typical Greek architecture.. Two-story, bay window, mostly wooden houses line the narrow streets.. It is essential to enjoy walking among the historical houses on quiet and calm streets without traffic noise and to breathe the atmosphere of the town.
There are many shops, shops and coffee houses around the big plane tree in the city square.. After wandering the streets, it is quite enjoyable to relax, have a drink and chat with the local people.

Get immersed in life by sitting in the cafes that stretch towards the beach and the port.
There are 3 different museums in the town that appeal to enthusiasts. Varvayianni Ouzo Museum, Lomari Isidoros Arvanitis Ouzo Museum and Soap Museum are must-sees to see the most important production tools for this town.. The hospitality and warm welcome at the museums make people happy.

Plomari is 42 km from the center of the island of Lesvos.. Due to the nature of the road, this journey takes approximately 50 minutes by private vehicle.. In order to go to this town from Turkey, it is necessary to take a ferry from Ayvalık to Lesbos.. After the ferry ride that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, the port of Lesbos is reached.. There is a municipal bus service between Mytilene and Plomari that runs 3-4 times a day.. However, without the hassle of the city bus, choose a pleasant journey by renting a car and being included in the nature view.
Plomari with its unspoiled nature, friendly people, historical structures, magnificent beaches, ouzo, olive oil and soap >, one of the most beautiful corners of Lesbos. Those planning a trip to Mytilene should spend a few days in this beautiful town.
After our tiring and intense trip to India, we got out of the chaos and arrived in Nepal, where we said “oh there is a world”. We had a comfortable journey to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a 55-minute flight from Varanasi.. Nepal is 3 hours 20 minutes ahead of Turkey and 15 minutes ahead of India.

A blend of 2 religions, It is very possible to see that Buddhism and Hinduism coexist in the country where it is intertwined, and this unity is reflected even in objects and temples.. Whether Buddhist or Hindu, everyone can easily perform their daily rituals according to their religious beliefs.. There are enough temples in the city. Someone who goes to work or wanders around the streets completes his prayer by ringing the bell in the tiny temple on the street and applying the red paint inside the temple to his forehead.. A person who has prayed has red paint on his forehead. When you see this, know that that person has prayed. Let’s not forget that the main element of flower worship. During the worship we witnessed in temples, they offer flowers to their gods and light candles.
We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.

But first, let’s list the must-haves and some information you need to know for those who are considering coming to Nepal:
Take a mask. Too much air pollution in the city. If you don’t want to walk in dust and smoke, take your mask.
Bring walking shoes. The roads are very bad and dusty.. If you don’t want your nails to get dirty, wear sneakers.
Those who come to Nepal by plane should get a free map from the airport.. The map you will get from the hotels is not very descriptive and guiding.
Visit the bookstores in the Thamel area. There is a wide variety of books, magazines and many products for anyone interested in books, not just travelers.
Buy LP-Nepal. If not, you can find it in Thamel.. But those who do not want to buy definitely need a guide in the temple areas.. But for me, the temples and the figures carved on the temple do not mean anything, if you only want to take pictures of them, you do not even need a guide.. They charge up to 100 rs from tourists, don’t give more than 25 rs. For your information! Locals don’t like discounts in Kathmandu.
. If you are going to shop, know that they sell you exponentially more expensive.
Although not everywhere, 25% tax is charged in many restaurants and cafes.
Have dinner at Northfield Restaurant in the Thamel area.. There will be a pleasant dinner next to a cozy wood fire accompanied by Nepali music.

Things suddenly turn upside down in Gdansk, it’s sunny now
The weather in the city has really changed with the sun and rainbow. Those depressing houses have turned into bright spring colors, now It’s time to wander the streets and take photos a lot.

Gdansk’s Islands
I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.
This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!

I want to have a snack and rest now. Şso that I can have a little view so that I can both fill my stomach and watch the city
Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.

Time to enjoy sunny Gdansk. I pass the Golden Gate at the upper end of the Long Market and open to the modern part of the city.
There is a triumphal arch-like gate and another historical building behind the Golden Gate.. You have now reached the wide streets of Gdansk here.

A Little Out of the City, The Environment Is Different
There is a huge modern shopping mall right across the street. It is also possible to see socialist-style buildings when you go to a little bit further in the city. Gdansk dates back to different historical periods. It is a city that has witnessed it too.
I am now finishing my sightseeing in Gdansk.. You might think that this city is an atmospheric place anyway, and all its streets and avenues are special in general, so I say go everywhere

It was a trip that met my expectations. I had high expectations when I came to Gdansk and it didn’t make any profit. It’s a very different place, especially from Warsaw.. Let’s see, I’ll have trips to Krakow and Katowice next month…
