Iceland Travel Guide: South Iceland – Golden Circle
We are traveling to the Ice Island at the end of the world. To do justice to a country like Iceland, you have to explore these lands to the fullest with a car ride! Before we travel, we marked all the stops on the map via Google Maps. For this reason, we had no difficulty in finding directions.. I recommend the same to you.. By the way, we toured both South Iceland and the Golden Circle by leaving Reykjavik between 08-09:00 in the morning.. Since the day was born around 10:30, we set off in the dark, and when we arrived at the first stop, we started to walk with the lightened air.
SOUTH ICELAND TRAVEL ROUTE
Not tiring but extremely long, I’m talking about a route of 700 – 800 km, which takes almost 16 hours.. For this reason, at the beginning of your trip, if you make the first South Iceland and leave the Golden Circle for the next day, it will be easier.. We were able to complete this route all the way to Vik Town, both because we went in winter, because it got dark after 18:00 and we had little time to spend in the daylight, and we stayed in Reykjavik for 3 nights during our Iceland trip.. When we came to Vik, we were caught in a snowstorm!
I mean, we couldn’t go to the stops after Vik town, we couldn’t see one of the most important spots, Jökulsarlon glacier.. If your trip is at least 4 days, stay in Vik Town for 1 day and move your South Iceland route to the 2nd day and visit the stops after Vik on the 2nd day.. By the way, all South Iceland stops can be reached from Route 1, so get lost.
As a result, 1 full day for South Iceland. If you want the whole route, 2 days are required.
Seljalandfoss: 1 goal per minute, 1 person can be shot like this, friend! This waterfall, whose name I still have trouble reading, is special and beautiful, as it is the first stop that introduces you to Iceland.. Iceland is already a land of waterfalls, but this waterfall is another beautiful one because you can get behind it.. Getting wet is a big unavoidable risk! The camera gets soaked even when taking pictures from the opposite side. Already in Iceland, I was exhausted from wiping the lens and perished for the sake of photographing nature!
Eyjafjallajökull: Sorry? What did you say? I said “Eyahfiyatlahyoukutlu”. This is a volcanic volcano that blocked Europe’s air traffic when it erupted in 2010, spewing ash 10 km high.. As there are plenty of waterfalls in Iceland, there are also plenty of volcanic volcanoes.. Even though we had a small climb to see if it would explode while we were there, thankfully we returned home safely.
Skogafoss: This is another waterfall famous for its rainbow.. Even if there is no sun, do not worry, she is very beautiful. The waterfall falls at your feet. The level of influence in the body is still quite high. We haven’t had enough of the waterfall yet!
Solheimasandur Plane Crash: In Iceland, there are the remains of an American navy plane that had to make an emergency landing in 1973, and this is on a black beach, moreover, certain parts of the plane were stolen would you believe me? This country is really full of interesting things. But like all good things, it takes effort.. After parking your car on Route 1, you have to walk towards the beach for 30 minutes in the cold.. Of course, every departure has a return.. But it’s DEFINITELY worth it. So the car doesn’t come in? Unfortunately, although our car was a 4×4 F Road, we couldn’t get in because the road was closed to traffic with fences. one of the places that affects you, a unique place in the world that gives you small but free moments. You must go! When we got to the edge of this cliff, a blizzard warning came to our phone.. We didn’t officially rock and enjoy this view. On the pleasant return road, we measured our height by driving at night, at a viewing distance of 1 meter, but was it worth it!
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach: I think it’s the most romantic stop in South Iceland. You are walking on a black beach, a sea of mad terror accompanies you. There are 2 volcanic rocks standing in the middle of the sea. You know that the black sand you get in your hands is caused by volcanic lava eruptions. SO beautiful!

Vik Town: The tiny and famous Icelandic town of Vik is quite popular as it is a food, drink and rest stop for travelers who will continue their South Iceland route to Jökulsarlon.. Otherwise, why is this town, which doesn’t have a number, be so famous?. Officially the genie is playing ball. If nature is nature, that is a different place.
Skaftafell National Park, Svartifoss, Svinafellsjökull, Jökulsarlon are the stops we could not visit on the South Iceland route. Skaftafell National Park is a wonderful place for those who want to buy from tour companies and visit an ice cave. The tour prices are of course quite salty, but those who think can evaluate it. Svartifoss is one of the nearly 10 thousand waterfalls in Iceland. I’m sure it’s just as majestic and beautiful as the others. The Svinafellsjökullglacier was a stop we wanted to go to, as it hosts the movie Interstellar and represents one of the planets visited by Matthew McConaughey, whom Umur is a fan of. Jökulsarlon is South Iceland’s victory point, last stop, and admirable glacier.
GOLDEN CIRCLE TRIP ROUTE
Iceland’ Golden Circle is the easiest route that every tourist who sets foot in the city will definitely want to visit.. We made the Golden Circle route on the last day of our 3-day trip.. A journey that is easier and shorter than in South Iceland, but where you will witness magnificent beauties, awaits you.. As you set out, you will see the famous Icelandic horses again.. Thingvellir National Park: To reach this national park, which is home to the oldest parliament building in the world, take Route 1 from Reykjavik. Say hello to the Golden Circle with the frozen lake, Thingvellir Church and the scenery reminiscent of a snow fairy tale.
Geysir & Strokkur:For me, Strokkur is with memories of the moments when I say goodbye to my fingers to photograph. full of miraculous place. I don’t know where I can see such a natural phenomenon again.. Water at a temperature of 80 – 100 degrees from underground gushes into the air every 6 – 8 minutes and you say “Whoooo plus!” you are screaming. Since the water evaporates as soon as it goes up, things like bathing with boiling water do not happen to you.. Do not forget that you will spend at least half an hour at this stop and get out of the car with scarf, beret, gloves, whatever.. In order not to get hit with tourists, do your shopping at the Bonus markets in my Iceland Travel Guide article I mentioned above and set off cautiously.
Gulfoss:There are some beauties in life and This view is so majestic that wherever you see something, you will compare it to it and say that it is not as much.. Gulfoss made such a lasting impression on me.. Queen’s stop of the Golden Circle. Two-stage waterfall, Golden Falls, the source of which is Langjökull glacier, is a rainbow paradise.. As you go up, you can observe in more detail and more magnificent.
Kerid Crater Lake: Dreams and realities! This crater lake is a natural wonder in a colorful pit with deep blue water.. We set out with this expectation and found ourselves in Kerid Crater Lake to realize the last stop of the Golden Circle.. While we did not pay for any stop, we paid a total of 35 TL for 2 people to see this place and we found ourselves at the lake.. What shall we see? Everywhere is covered with snow, there is no trace of that colorful pit. Rose, rose, we died at that moment, we are already tired. If you go in the spring, you will be lucky with us.. Anyway, I can’t say I haven’t seen a crater lake anymore!
When you complete the Golden Circle, you can take a breath at Screet Lagoon to end the day with pleasure.. Since we went to the Blue Lagoon, we did not stop by here, we preferred to visit Reykjavik in the evening.. It can be a nice farewell point to Iceland.
In summary, I think you don’t need to spend money and buy tours there.. By renting a car, you can follow these routes and visit Iceland with pleasure.

Things to do in Plomari
The so-called ‘old town’ in the center of the town, which is one of the oldest settlements on the island, is where you can witness typical Greek architecture.. Two-story, bay window, mostly wooden houses line the narrow streets.. It is essential to enjoy walking among the historical houses on quiet and calm streets without traffic noise and to breathe the atmosphere of the town.
There are many shops, shops and coffee houses around the big plane tree in the city square.. After wandering the streets, it is quite enjoyable to relax, have a drink and chat with the local people.

There are 3 different museums in the town that appeal to enthusiasts. Varvayianni Ouzo Museum, Lomari Isidoros Arvanitis Ouzo Museum and Soap Museum are must-sees to see the most important production tools for this town.. The hospitality and warm welcome at the museums make people happy.

Plomari is 42 km from the center of the island of Lesvos.. Due to the nature of the road, this journey takes approximately 50 minutes by private vehicle.. In order to go to this town from Turkey, it is necessary to take a ferry from Ayvalık to Lesbos.. After the ferry ride that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, the port of Lesbos is reached.. There is a municipal bus service between Mytilene and Plomari that runs 3-4 times a day.. However, without the hassle of the city bus, choose a pleasant journey by renting a car and being included in the nature view.
Plomari with its unspoiled nature, friendly people, historical structures, magnificent beaches, ouzo, olive oil and soap >, one of the most beautiful corners of Lesbos. Those planning a trip to Mytilene should spend a few days in this beautiful town.
After our tiring and intense trip to India, we got out of the chaos and arrived in Nepal, where we said “oh there is a world”. We had a comfortable journey to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a 55-minute flight from Varanasi.. Nepal is 3 hours 20 minutes ahead of Turkey and 15 minutes ahead of India.

Whether Buddhist or Hindu, everyone can easily perform their daily rituals according to their religious beliefs.. There are enough temples in the city. Someone who goes to work or wanders around the streets completes his prayer by ringing the bell in the tiny temple on the street and applying the red paint inside the temple to his forehead.. A person who has prayed has red paint on his forehead. When you see this, know that that person has prayed. Let’s not forget that the main element of flower worship. During the worship we witnessed in temples, they offer flowers to their gods and light candles.
We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.

But first, let’s list the must-haves and some information you need to know for those who are considering coming to Nepal:
Take a mask. Too much air pollution in the city. If you don’t want to walk in dust and smoke, take your mask.

Those who come to Nepal by plane should get a free map from the airport.. The map you will get from the hotels is not very descriptive and guiding.
Visit the bookstores in the Thamel area. There is a wide variety of books, magazines and many products for anyone interested in books, not just travelers.
Buy LP-Nepal. If not, you can find it in Thamel.. But those who do not want to buy definitely need a guide in the temple areas.. But for me, the temples and the figures carved on the temple do not mean anything, if you only want to take pictures of them, you do not even need a guide.. They charge up to 100 rs from tourists, don’t give more than 25 rs. For your information! Locals don’t like discounts in Kathmandu.

The weather in the city has really changed with the sun and rainbow. Those depressing houses have turned into bright spring colors, now It’s time to wander the streets and take photos a lot.

Gdansk’s Islands
I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.
This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!

I want to have a snack and rest now. Şso that I can have a little view so that I can both fill my stomach and watch the city
Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.

Time to enjoy sunny Gdansk. I pass the Golden Gate at the upper end of the Long Market and open to the modern part of the city.
There is a triumphal arch-like gate and another historical building behind the Golden Gate.. You have now reached the wide streets of Gdansk here.

A Little Out of the City, The Environment Is Different
There is a huge modern shopping mall right across the street. It is also possible to see socialist-style buildings when you go to a little bit further in the city. Gdansk dates back to different historical periods. It is a city that has witnessed it too.
I am now finishing my sightseeing in Gdansk.. You might think that this city is an atmospheric place anyway, and all its streets and avenues are special in general, so I say go everywhere

So Many Places to Visit in Poland!
It was a trip that met my expectations. I had high expectations when I came to Gdansk and it didn’t make any profit. It’s a very different place, especially from Warsaw.. Let’s see, I’ll have trips to Krakow and Katowice next month…
