By ferry to Rhodes Island transportation points : Where is Rhodes Island & How to get there

2. How to Get to Rhodes Island?

I can count dozens of ways to go to Rhodes Island.. Whether by plane; We can go to Rhodes either by boat or by ferry.

The best thing is that we can go to Rhodes and other Greek Islands by obtaining a Greece Gate visa if we wish.. As this is the case and there are multiple alternatives, I also wrote a Where & How to Go to Rhodes Island article for you and explained all the alternatives there one by one.

You can stay on Rhodes Island for 6 Euros per person.. You can take a look at the Rhodes Island Hotels link to review.

Where is Rhodes & How to get there, I even explained the visa situation; Let’s move on to the Eating & Drinking section, that is, my favorite activity.

3. Food and Drink in Rhodes: What to eat in Rhodes?

First of all, let me say this. You will never go hungry in Rhodes. Seafood, Greek Salad (Greek Salad), Saganaki (a cheese special to Greece), pasta, pizza and Ouzo (Greek raki) are the meals and beverages you will consume most…

Our tastes are already very close to each other.. In fact, most of the menu; You can see our delicacies such as Izmir meatballs, stuffed meat, Cacik, Karnıyarık.. Maybe their tastes are not exactly the same, but there is no gap between them.

I wrote down the restaurants and cafes that I have experienced from region to region without confusing you.. Because there are so many taverns and cafes in Rhodes that it is not possible to write them all.. This is the restaurant they call a tavern.

What surprised me the most was Rhodes food and beverage prices. Frankly, I was expecting higher prices, but you can have a nice meal for two people for an average of 15-20 Euros.

The regions where restaurants and cafes are most concentrated in Rhodes; Old Town (old town) and New Town (new town) district. For this reason, I explained the restaurants and cafes of the 2 regions separately:

Now, here is the second part of my Rhodes Island trip.. watch. I would be very happy if you follow my channel as well.

Food & Beverage in the Old Town Area

Every street in the Old Town Area smells of history. While walking on the Street of Knights, you feel yourself in period movies, and when you pass the Rhodes Castle and raise your head, you are surprised that the structures are so preserved.. The design of each is beautiful.

By the way, you can walk everywhere in the regions I have mentioned.. While visiting historical buildings during the day, you can dine in the same area and even get lost in the nightlife of Rhodes.

The prices of the Old Town Area are slightly more expensive than the New Town.. Because this is a tourist area.. But restaurant ambiances are intertwined with history…

Nireas Fish Restaurant

This is a place separated from the noise of the Old Town centre.. It has a small, cozy and friendly atmosphere.. Some evenings, a Bulgarian uncle wanders between the tables and sings to the accompaniment of the guitar.. We also came across this beautiful moment.

Here is the famous Greek Salad of Greece. It was the best in Nireas Restaurant. : Rhodes Island

  • Prices: Octopus 10 Euros, Squid 10 Euros, Mussels 9 Euros, Greek Salad 8 Euros.
  • My Recommendations : They made their own Greek Salad, it was good. I haven’t tried it, but they say Symi Shrimp is very good.
  • What a Place: Staff are friendly but service is a bit slow. Although this is valid in almost all restaurants in Rhodes.. In general, it has a pleasant ambiance, go to it.
  • Address: Sofokleous 22, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Romeo Restaurant

The first time I saw it from the outside, I said, ‘Okay, this place is very good’, but the food was not what I expected compared to the ambiance and prices of the place.. I think this is because the menu is too fluffy. There are so many options. Taste quality may be declining because they’ve done everything.

  • Prices: Octopus Salad with Vinegar 7.40, Grilled Octopus 12.80, Stuffed Calamari 12.80, Greek Salad 6.30, Vegetarian Appetizers 12.70, Veal Flito 27.40, Beer 4.15, Coke 2.90, Cocktails between 5 and 7 Euros.
  • My Suggestions: I ate Stuffed Calamari, but the sauce was too much for me because I like it plain.. But if you like sauce, I say try it.
  • What a Place: They bring a Turkish menu for Turkish guests.. It is pleasant to sit under the big tree outside and have a meal while listening to Greek music.
  • Address: Menekleous 7, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Socratous Garden

Socratous Garden has two entrances. Socratous and Theofiliskou Street. We left ourselves to Socrates Street from the Clock Tower and made our entrance from there.

It is generally a beverage-based place. It is a quiet place in the Old Town where you will not want to sit in peace among the greenery and never want to get up.

Socrates Garden has such a beautiful garden

  • Prices: Nescafe Frappe 3.10, Ice Cream Frappe 4.20, Greek Coffee 1.90, Filter Coffee 3.10, Fresh Orange Juice 3.90, Lemonade 2.80, Beer 3.60, Cocktail 5.90 Euro. If you want to eat; Greek Salad 4.90, Margarita 7.70, Shrimp Saganaki 11 Euros.
  • What Kind of Place: As soon as you enter the cafe, the green ambiance in the garden, the sound of the water and the wide-spread peaceful corners are enough to impress you. A place where you can sit and enjoy with pleasant music day or night.
  • Address: Sokratous 124, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Davinci Artisan Gelato

After passing the Socratous Garden, there is an ice cream parlor that will blow your mind in the famous Hippocrates Square.. The last time I ate such a beautiful ice cream was in Rome.

  • Prices: One scoop of ice cream is 2.20, two scoops of ice cream 4 Euros, three scoops of 5.50. If you want your ice cream in a cone decorated with hazelnut, pistachio and chocolate sauces, you pay an extra 1 Euro.
  • My recommendations: I would definitely say try the ones with melon and yogurt.
  • What a Place: Stone outside, modern and clean inside. There’s a queue ahead. Desserts such as chocolate and tiramisu are also sold inside.. The products are oil-free and do not contain preservatives.
  • Address: Sokratous 1-19, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Mevlana Coffee Bar

Encountering an authentic Turkish Coffeehouse while walking on the historical Socrates Street makes one happy. Of course, seeing the tea, baklava and Turkish Coffee texts written outside the place makes you more happy.. Tea is important to us, you know.

The Mevlana Coffeehouse on Socrates Street looks just like Turkish coffee

  • Prices: Coffees 2.5 – 3.5 Euros, Baklava 3.90 Euros, Orange juice 3.80.
  • My Suggestions: After getting tired of a nice tour in Rhodes, the Turks In other words, I say, “Drink a coffee of tiredness.”
  • What a Place: Mevlana Kahvesi, which has survived intact for exactly 4 generations, is one of the oldest coffee bars run by the same family.. The historical structure of the place, the antiques inside are very impressive. Definitely go.
  • Address: Sokratous 73-99, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

New Town Area Food & Beverage

Let’s come to the region where my favorite restaurants are. This place is much better than Old Town in terms of price. There are beautiful places especially in Mandilara and Leontos Street.. You also come across souvenir shops a lot on Mandilara Street.

A suggestion for you; Check the prices for Greek Salad before entering the venue. If the price is over 5 Euros, that place is one click above the average.. I did a simple analysis like this myself. Most of them did, let me tell you.

Koykos

It is located at the entrance of Mandilara Street.. This was my favorite restaurant in Rhodes by far.. The food is very good, the prices are reasonable, the place is authentic and tidy. What else? My advice, make a reservation before you go.. It gets very full especially in summer.

Koykos’ garden and interior design was also great

  • Prices: Normally Greek Salad costs 8-10 Euros in the Old Town, 4.80 Euros here, Pasta with Bolognese Sauce 8 Euros, Octopus 10 Euros
  • My Recommendations: Definitely try the octopus, the sauce is amazing, it’s delicious. Try the calamari and garlic bread too.. I haven’t eaten Mücver, but a lot of people have suggested it.. You can try it too.
  • What a Place: Their service is attentive, the prices are very reasonable according to the taste.. You can sit both outside and inside. Music, ambiance and venue design are very nice. They also have very authentic rooms for accommodation upstairs.
  • Address:  Nikiforou Mandilara 20, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

OK Restaurant

Imagine a place, you enjoy waiting in line outside. Because wine is served to those who wait in line.. This is a special place where attention, taste and presentation are very good.. It gets fuller in the evenings. For this reason, I recommend you to go at noon.

  • Prices: Greek Salad 7.90 Euros, Garlic Bread 3.50 Euros, Pastas between 9-27 Euros, Steaks between 13-27 Euros, Prawns 22 Euros, Calamari 10 Euros. Prices may seem a little high, but you will not regret it.. So everything is ‘ok’.
  • My suggestions: I say try the Lamb Shank with Calamari and Apricots. Actually there are different flavors on the menu. Choose according to your own taste and eat without thinking. The food is delicious and of good quality. For example, there is ouzo (Greek raki) and King Shrimp cooked with orange juice.. I was wondering. You try it and let me know.
  • What a Place: A small and cozy place. Owner is very involved. He tries to make love to everyone. As I said, try to go at noon, it is very crowded in the evening.
  • Address: Leontos 1, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Napoleon Restaurant

Napoleon is on the corner at the end of Mandilara Street, where Koykos is located.. We sat down for lunch and sang margharitas and beers.. It was delicious too.

The pizza I ate at Napoleon was delicious

  • Prices : If you go at noon, I suggest you take advantage of the ‘Lunch Menu’.. Pizza, which is normally 7.90 Euros on the Lunch Menu, drops to 5.90. Greek Salad also goes from 5.80 to 4.90. No discount on beer. It’s fixed at 3.90.
  • My suggestions: Her Margharita was nice, you can try it.
  • What a Place: You can sit in the garden and enjoy your meal. a place.
  • Address: Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Koozina

Koozina is located on the same street as OK Restaurant. A cute place where seafood is very delicious. Staff is polite, restaurant is clean, food is delicious. Prices may seem a bit high compared to New Town, but I can say that they are worth it.

  • Prices: Stuffed Calamari 15.50, Mussels 11.80, Grilled Sea Bream 14.90, Sword Fish 16.90, Pastas 8 -15 Euros, Greek Salad 8.20.
  • Recommendations: I say try Greek Salad, Stuffed Calamari and Homemade Wine. And they call Swordfish very good.. I didn’t eat it but you can try. They also offer the last dessert.. You will love the taste.
  • What a Place: A sincere place where the owner is very interested. When you come to Rhodes, be sure to stop by one evening.
  • Address: G. Leontos Street 19, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Nisos Restaurant

The first day we came to Rhodes, we came across Elli Beach after walking. a restaurant out. Right across from Rhodes Casino. There is a Turkish Menu. We ate pizza and drank beer as we weren’t very hungry.. It was delicious.

The garden of Nisos Restaurant was beautiful. We enjoyed our dinner: Rodos Island

  • Prices: Seafood between 11-35 Euros, Pastas between 7-20 Euros, Pizzas between 9-14 Euros, Beer 3.90.
  • My Suggestions: Her Margharita was good. Based on that, I think other dishes could be delicious as well.. Try it.
  • What a Place: A clean and quality place. Employees are very engaged. When they learned that we were Turkish, they behaved more warmly.. It has a long garden. Lastly, they serve the cocktail they made.
  • Address: Ko street 13, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

4. Places to Visit in Rhodes

If I had known that there were so many places to visit in Rhodes; I think I would plan my Rhodes Island tour to spend more time. That’s why :

I I want to separate the places to visit in Rhodes inner city and extra city for clarity.

You can stay on Rhodes Island for 6 Euros per person.. You can take a look at the Rhodes Island Hotels link to review.

After all, although Rhodes is referred to as an island, it is an urbanized residential area containing Diagoras International Airport.

I’m attaching a map of the entire route I’ve traveled below. At least you’ve seen the locations before you go. All the places to visit are close to each other.. While exploring the streets, you will definitely encounter one of them.

Places to visit in the Old Town Area – Greece vacation

I couldn’t mark all the places in the list on the map. Because they stay a little more on the coastline part. This is usually places in the Old Town Area. But don’t worry. I also explained the places I did not mark on the map below.

Places to Visit in Rhodes Island

  • Rhodes Aquarium
  • Elli Beach
  • Evangelismos Church
  • Mandraki Harbor and Windmills
  • The Statue of Rhodes
  • The Castle of Rhodes
  • Grand Masters Palace
  • Decorative Arts Collection
  • Archaeological museum
  • Our Lady of the Castle
  • Street of the Knights
  • Medieval Clock Tower
  • Suleymaniye Mosque
  • Hippocrates Square

Well, let’s come to the part that I am most excited about.. I am excited because as soon as I entered the island, the Rhodes Castle and the walls extending into the island made me admire Rhodes history.

The well-preserved historical buildings, historical streets and squares where you will feel like you are in a period movie. impresses at first glance.

Then I’ll start telling my trip to Rhodes without wasting time.

Rhodes Aquarium

The hotel where I’m staying is New Town Area’ I went to the Old Town side by visiting a few places to visit on the beach because it is in the city center.

The map I added above shows the Old Town Area.. I started from the Aquarium at the northern end of the Rhodes coast and moved on to the Old Town.. The right part of the aquarium includes Elli Beach, which I described in the Rhodes beaches section below.

I started my Rhodes trip. the first place was the Aquarium located on the coastline

Rhodes Aquarium; both the hydrobiology museum, the research center and the aquarium. The building is old as you can see.. It was made during the Italian occupation in the 1930s.. After the occupation ended, the Greeks continued it as a research institute.

Since 1963, the museum part has been added to the building.. You can see sea turtles, various crab species, sharks and Mediterranean seals in the aquarium.. So, should you enter while you’re here? I think it’s “Well done.”

  • Entry Fee: 5.50 Euros, discounted entry 3.50 Euros
  • Opening-Closing Hours: strong> 09:00 – 20:30 (open daily)
  • Address: Cos Street, PC 851 31 Rhodes, Greece

Evangelismos Church

When you continue on the road next to Elli Beach, you come across a large Rhodes Casino.. I was surprised to see it because I didn’t know there was a Casino in Rhodes. I explained this part in the Rhodes nightlife section below.

Anyway, skip Rhodes Casino. The road takes you to the seaside again. Here you will see the Evangelismos Church on that coastal part.

Evangelismos Church is in a very beautiful location

It’s not always open. We coincided when it was open. The interior was beautiful. The frescoes, stained glass windows and large chandeliers on the wall created a very mystical atmosphere.. I say you should definitely see it while walking along the coastline.

Mandraki Harbor and Windmills

Actually, the shore where the Evangelismos Church is located is called Mandraki Harbor.. This is the main port of Rhodes.

If you are going to Rhodes in the summer, make sure to join the tours that depart from Mandraki Port.

There are many boats going to Symi, Lindos and nearby places. For example, small boats to Lindos are usually 20 Euros per person.. Of course it gets a little crowded.. If you prefer a larger, luxury yacht with fewer passengers, 60 Euros per person.

Boats in Mandraki Harbor and Three windmills standing side by side on the right side: Rhodes Island

As you can see in the photo, there are Windmills right across the port.. These restored windmills date from the Middle Ages.

Grain unloaded by merchants from ships was ground here in the past.. Now it depicts the past of Rhodes with its beautiful view in Mandraki Harbor.

I liken it to the structures in Mykonos but the windmills here are not painted white. It’s an ideal place to take pictures.

It’s nice to see the windmills, but I wish there was information about the history around it.. It would be much nicer to be able to read its history while watching the mills there.

The Statue of Rhodes

Where is the Statue of Rhodes, one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World? Part of Mandraki Harbor at the beginning, and the other part is at the end of the Windmills.

Oh, if only it were possible to see the real statue of the statue.. Now, instead of a statue, a deer is made on two columns as a representation.

The other deer is not visible in the photo, but it stands on the opposite side of the other column.. Here, imagine that the Statue of Rhodes has one leg on one column and the other leg on the column on the opposite shore.. Isn’t it a huge statue?

When I had the Rhodes Statue, all the ships would pass between my statue’s legs. : Rodos Island

This gigantic statue is assumed to be exactly 32 meters high. It was believed to protect the island from all attacks, since it was deployed just at the entrance of Rhodes Island. Even before it was built according to the beliefs of the time, it was intended to receive power from the God Zeus.

Today, we cannot see the Statue of Rhodes.. Because it was completely destroyed as a result of the earthquake in 250 BC.. Its remains are also exhibited in the museum on the island.

Rhodes Castle

You have seen the Mandraki Port, the Windmills and the place where the Rhodes Statue is located.. turn your head back. You will see the Rhodes Castle and its walls that completely surround the Old Town.

When I first saw it, I was very surprised that it was so preserved.. While visiting the Old Town, it feels incredible to be walking between the castle and the walls that stretch for 4 kilometers.

As you can see, the castle is very well preserved.

The castle and walls, which are a medieval architecture, are made of sandstone walls.. Each wall makes you feel like you’re traveling through time. ‘Cause they’re so good. It has already been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Monuments.

Grand Masters Palace

After finishing the coastline, it is the location of the Old Town District, where most of the historical buildings are here.

To get to the Old Town District, I continued on foot from the place in the photo, which is just across the Mandraki Harbor.. Anyway, the road somehow leads you to the street where the Knights Street is located.

Another historical place like this to visit the historical places in Old Town. I logged in from the building.

At the end of the Street of the Knights you will see the Palace of the Grand Masters. First of all, I’m taking you to the Palace of the Masters.. Because we will buy a combined ticket there.

I will tell you what a combined ticket is for: Normally, you can only visit the Palace of the Grand Masters for 6 Euros, but with a combined ticket of 10 Euros. ; You can also visit the Archeology Museum, Decorative Arts Collection, and Our Lady of the Castle.

I have explained all of them one by one below.. First, let’s tour the Palace of the Great Masters, which impresses with its splendor.

First of all, I must say that the palace has a simple magnificence.. The most important feature is that it is the center of the Knights of Rhodes and is considered one of the few examples of gothic architecture in Greece…

Palace of the Great Masters’ The courtyard of the palace

It is clear that the palace has undergone a tremendous restoration.. really well preserved. The paintings hanging on the wall, the bazaar in the courtyard, the mosaics and the knight figures in the rooms are worth seeing.

I was just waiting for the palace to be fuller.. But the presentations of the rooms I saw were very poor.. There was a general lack of information about the palace.

The reason for this was that most of the objects and furniture belonged to the Italians when the Italians occupied the palace.. The items and information belonging to the Knight Period were not well preserved.

But it was still nice to see and feel a gothic building.. I would definitely say you should see the plain magnificence of the Palace of the Grand Masters, which is on the UNESCO heritage list in the Old Town.

  • Entry Fee: 6 Euro (10 Euro combined) 4 museums can be visited with a ticket)
  • Opening-Closing Hours: 08:00 – 18:00
  • Address: Platonos 20 , Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Decorative Arts Collection

Decorative Arts Museum with a 10 Euro combined ticket from the Palace of the Grand Masters you can visit. It is located right at the entrance of the Knights Street.

Inside; The collection includes examples of Lindos’ famous plates, traditional costumes, furniture, household items, wood carvings and ceramics.

Decorative Arts The garden of the Museum is very beautiful, you can take beautiful photos under the flowers here

In the museum, an example of the interior arrangements of the houses from the Ottoman Era (1522-1912) was made.. Aim; exhibiting the lifestyles of people, not the daily life of the past…

Again, I cannot say that it is a very rich collection in terms of museum. But the architecture, the atmosphere is beautiful. I say see it while you have a combined ticket.

  • Entry Fee: You can visit with a combined ticket.
  • Opening-Closing Hours: strong> 09:00 – 17:00 (closed Monday)
  • Address: Rodos 851 00, Greece

Rhodes Archaeological Museum

You can also visit the Archeology Museum with a combined ticket.. At the beginning of the Street of the Knights, it’s on the left. The museum was the hospital of the Knights of St. John in the Middle Ages.

Now, it contains collections of archaeological artifacts brought from various regions of Rhodes and neighboring islands.

Also, various statues, funerary monuments and monuments are in the museum. floor mosaics. I had the feeling that I was visiting a small-scale sculpture museum.

Architectural structures in the Old Town Area, as in the Archaeological Museum, are very well preserved : Rodos Island

There are carefully preserved ruins. But the part belonging to the Ottoman Period could have been a little more well-kept.

In general, it was a larger museum than I expected.. Its architectural structure is beautiful, it makes you feel thousands of years of history.

  • Entrance Fee: 6 Euros (with a 10 Euro combined ticket, 4 museums can be visited)
  • Opening-Closing Hours: 08:00 – 20:00
  • Address: Akti Sachtouri 8, Rhodes 851 00, Greece

Our Lady of the Castle

This is the last place you can see with a combination ticket. And this place is located at the entrance of the Street of the Knights. 11th. The building, which was built in the 19th century, was used as the Rhodes Orthodox Cathedral under the Byzantine administration.

In the Ottoman Period, it was converted into a mosque and named as ‘Imam Mosque’.. And a minaret was built in the south part. However, the minaret was removed during the Italian occupation.

I would like to see the historical building, which is now used as a museum. Spacious and very simple. As in other museums…

  • Entry Fee: 4 museums can be visited with a combined ticket of 10 Euros
  • Address: Rhodos -Stadt 851 00, Greece

Street of the Knights

To our Rhodes tour famous Knights Let’s continue with the street. All the museums with valid combined tickets, which I told you above, are at the beginning and end of this street.. Adding the Alley of the Knights on top of it doubled the effect.

I felt like I was traveling through all the other times rather than walking down a street.. Maybe that’s how I feel is because of the magnificent preservation of historical buildings.. I think Rhodes is a good example of historical preservation.

The Street of the Knights looks like something out of a period movie, doesn’t it?</p pIn the past, knights lived in the houses on this beautiful street.. Today, he continues to use those historical houses, government offices, as well as cultural institutions.. It's like you're in a period movie in one breath…/ppThe street is not just one road.. After 100 meters, you can take a breather at the snack bar. Prices are affordable. Frappe 2.5 Euros, baguette sandwiches 3.5 Euros, lemonade 4 Euros, Greek Salad 5 Euros.

After your rest, stop by the Kalopetra Monastery 200 meters ahead.. There is a small museum and church inside the monastery.

Thousands of butterflies may not be flying at the same time in Butterfly Valley, but you will have a very nice nature walk.

Finally; I recommend you to wear comfortable shoes when going up and down the valley.

Faliraki

After leaving Butterfly Valley, we arrived in Faliraki Region in 30 minutes by car.. Normally, if you come directly from Rhodes, you can reach it in 20 minutes.

You can also use the ferryboats that come to Faliraki in 20 minutes from Rhodes Port. If you come from Rhodes Mandraki Port by bus, you can reach 2.40 Euros, and if you come by taxi, you can reach 20 Euros.

This is the biggest and liveliest place in Rhodes. one of the resorts. It has beautiful beaches and coves. I have explained these in more detail in the Rhodes bay and beaches section below.

There are also bays in Faliraki Region where you can relax like this : Rodos Island

Faliraki’s nightlife is also quite lively. It appeals to all age groups. It has a vibrant tourism. One of Europe’s largest water parks is located in Faliraki.. Prices in the water park are affordable, but it gets very crowded in the season.

If you come to Rhodes, I say spend 1 day in Faliraki.. I couldn’t stay here that long, but I recommend it to you.

You can relax on the long sandy beach during the day and have fun in the water park.. You can also enjoy the nightlife in the evening.

Lindos

After Faliraki, I reached Lindos in approximately 35-40 minutes by car.. Of course, if you come from the center of Rhodes by bus or taxi, you will arrive in 1.5 hours.

You can also use the daily boats from Rhodes Mandraki Port, which costs 20 Euros per person.. If you want to come from Mandraki Port by taxi, it costs 65 Euros, and if you choose a bus, it costs 5.50 Euros per person.

But the best thing to do is to rent a car like I did.. Both the roads are very comfortable and there is no waste of time.. You have visited many places in one day.

Lindos is a village built on a hillside with its white buildings. It has a big castle on top and a sparkling sea below.

Doesn’t Lindos Village look very beautiful to you: Rhodos Island

There are souvenir shops, taverns, cafes, ice cream shops and markets in its narrow streets.. All of them became a whole within the white buildings.

If you want to walk on the streets while eating ice cream, 1 ball of ice cream is 1.5 Euros, Frappe is 1.5 Euros, fruit juices and orange juice are 1.5 Euros.. Food and beverage prices are moderate, but the prices of souvenirs are a little high. The same ones are sold more cheaply in Rhodes New Town.

There is a castle on top of Lindos.. They built a long ladder to get up there.. You need to put some effort. But I saw a father go out with a pram. I’m sure it will be my future self as well.

If you say “I can’t climb that many stairs”, an uncle from Lindos has found the solution.. Although it doesn’t seem right to me, it takes you on a donkey and takes you up the hill for 6 Euros.

When you go up to the castle in Lindos, it is both historical and historical. you are witnessing the scenery. : Rhodes Island

I think one of the most beautiful places you can see in Lindos is the Acropolis built on the hill.. Entrance fee to the castle is 12 Euros. It has a magnificent bird’s eye view of the surrounding ports, the coastline and the white structures of Lindos.

Here lies a deep history of the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St John, and Ottomans.. Its temples, squares, Hellenistic stairs and walls are worth seeing.

The Acropolis is spread over a very large area.. That’s why you need to spend 45 minutes here. The Acropolis is open every day from 8:00 to 19:40.

After having a good time in Lindos, you can enjoy one of the rooftop restaurants.. We chose to sit at Stefany’s Restaurant.

It felt good to sit on a beautifully designed roof at sunset.. Prices are slightly above the average, but the food is delicious.

Starters 8-9 Euros, Main Courses 14-15 Euros, Greek Salad 6.5 Euros, Beer 3.60 Euros, Cocktails 8 Euros.

You can stay on Rhodes Island for 6 Euros per person. You can go to the Rhodes Island Hotels link to review.

Rhodes Island Beaches and Bays

As Rhodes is the largest of the Greek Islands, there are plenty of beaches and coves on the island.. As you can see on the map, the eastern part of the island is where the beaches are most concentrated. The western part is more preferred for windsurfing as it is exposed to high winds.

I wanted to see the beaches on the island with their locations in general.. I chose the best beaches myself and created a guide for you.. Hope it helps.

The beaches and coves on Rhodes Island are lined up on the eastern part of the island because it gets less wind

  • Fifty
  • Kallithea
  • Faliraki

Elli Beach

  • Elli Beach starts next to the Aquarium I described above and continues along the coast.. One of the most popular beaches of the island.
  • Although it is intertwined with the city, the sea is clean.. A beach mixed with pebbles and sand.
  • There are many taverns and cafes right behind it.. There is a jumping platform built by the Italians in the 1930s in the sea.. You can dive from a height of 1 – 2.5 and 5 meters.

Elli Beach is one of the closest beaches to the center. A place where you can relax with its long and wide area

  • In general, I found the beach safe. Everyone seems to be together, but they have a spacious area.
  • But if you don’t want your head to be too big, I suggest you rent a sunbed by the Aquarium.. As they come inland, the young crew increases and becomes more crowded.
  • The price of 2 sun loungers and 1 umbrella, 10 Euro. Even if you don’t rent a sunbed, you can use the shower.. no one is asking anything. But even if you spread your towel, remember that the beach is stony.

Kallithea

  • It is a calm beach, the water is very clear. The sun loungers are set on the rocks.
  • If you like diving, Kallithea is one of the best diving centers of Rhodes.

Faliraki

  • Easy to reach. Even if you haven’t rented a car, the bus goes all the way to the beach.. The bus fare from the center of Rhodes is 2.40 Euros.
  • The beach is long, wide and sandy.. It is very suitable for families with children.
  • There are many taverns and cafes on the beach.. Prices are affordable.
  • If you want to rent a sunbed, the price is 5 Euros.. You can lay your own towel and swim in the sea.. No interference.

Anthony Quinn

  • Just outside Faliraki, about 15 kilometers from Rhodes.
  • You can reach the center of Rhodes by bus.. The fee is 2.40 Euros.
  • The beach consists of large and small rocks.. There are even sun loungers on big rocks.
  • The beach is not suitable for families with children as it is very rocky and stony.

Anthony Quinn Beach is calm but very stony as you can see:  Rodos Island

  • Umbrella and sun lounger rental is 5 Euros per person.
  • A bar-style establishment behind the beach there is. Prices are affordable, hamburgers start from 2.5 Euros. Coke 2 Euros, beer 3.5 Euros.
  • A small suggestion: Wear sea shoes to make you more comfortable on the rocks.. If you don’t have it with you, it is sold for 8 Euros in the business behind.

Ladiko

  • 5 minutes away from Anthony Quinn. This is also a stony beach.
  • The water is very clear.. That’s why snorkeling is very enjoyable.

According to Anthony Quinn, Ladiko Beach is a little less stony : Rhodes Island

  • There are nice taverns and cafes in the back.. Prices are average.
  • It gets very crowded especially in the summer season.. That’s why I suggest you go in the morning.. Or if you go around 4 pm, it will be quieter.

Afandou

  • A beach that you can reach by bus from Rhodes center for 2.40 Euros per person.

Afandou

  • A long beach. The sea is clean, shallow and calm. The beach is fine pebbles and sand. Various parts of the beach are blue flagged.
  • There are sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports facilities.
  • There are few taverns and snack bars.

Tsambika

  • A beach that you can reach directly from Rhodes center by bus. Bus ticket costs 3.90 Euros.
  • A clean, sandy, long and quiet beach. It’s just that it’s a little windy, which may bother you.
  • Very suitable for families with children. There are water sports for both children and adults.
  • There are small cafes behind the sun loungers along the beach.

Lindos

  • To me the most the addressing bay was Lindos. Because the beach is completely sandy, clean and windless.
  • Very suitable for families with children.. Because the sea is shallow at first.
  • The only difficult part is to reach the beach by going down stairs and uphill from Lindos centre.. But if you ask me, it’s definitely worth it.

Lindos Bay is completely sandy and the sea is amazing : Rhodes Island

  • If you want to rent sunbeds and umbrellas, 5 Euros per person. There is also a shower facility.
  • There are many places to eat and snack next to the beach and just above it.. If you have a nice meal, you pay an average of 30 Euros for 2 people.
  • You can reach the center of Rhodes by bus for 5,50 Euros.. Taxi brings 65 Euros. It is very expensive.
  • Alternatively, you can also come by day trip boats from Rhodes centre.

Ixia

  • It is only 5 kilometers from Rhodes centre. The beach is mostly pebbles, but the sea is clear.
  • Because it is in the western part of Rhodes, it gets a lot of wind.
  • This is the thing anyway.. It offers the perfect conditions for windsurfing… They come to Ixia from all over the world to surf.
  • I haven’t tried it but I highly recommend it to you.

5. Rhodes Island Nightlife

Rhodes Island; Apart from its beautiful historical streets, coves and beaches, it is also very famous for its nightlife.

Especially the Orfanidou, or Bar Street, in New Town is very lively.. Even people dance outside the venues.

If you want to experience the pinnacle of nightlife in Rhodes, Greece, the music and atmosphere in Bar Street will be enough for you.. It is a street where the young crew usually hang out and the movement never stops.

If you say “I don’t mind the movement on Bar Street”, definitely choose the bars in the Old Town District.. There are very high quality places where you can have fun and sit and chat while listening to music.. I have explained all of them one by one below.

The Places I Will Recommend in Bar Street (Orfanidou):

The prices of the bars in Orfanidou are more affordable than in the Old Town. If I were to list the places I chose:

  • Colorado Club: This is the most famous place of Bar Street. Entry fee is 10 Euros. One cocktail you will get inside is included in the price.. It has a large area. There is live music.
  • Inmonopolet: If you want to sit and have a drink, this place is a little quieter.. I drank Mohito here for 10 Euros. It’s a bit expensive, but the taste of the cocktail was legendary.

People play outside in Rhodes nightlife, this is how Bar Street is alive : Rhodes Island

  • Pepe’s Bodega: A place packed with young people. Right across Inmonopolet. Foreign hits playing. During the day, they organize beach parties.
  • Grabbarna Grus Rhodos: Rhodes’ largest Scandinavian nightclub. It’s very full. People are dancing like crazy.
  • Captain Hook Bar: A must-try bar for metal and Hard Rock lovers in Rhodes. It’s a small place but they play very good songs. The place is decorated with a pirate theme. Prices are average.

Places I would recommend in Old Town:

I regret that I discovered Old Town Menekleous Street on the last day. ‘Cause the young crew frenzy of Pub Street isn’t here. Simpler, better quality and just as much fun. If I were to list the best ones:

Macao Cocktail Bar: A very stylish place decorated in history. You feel the quality as soon as you take your step. There is no dancing, but if you want to spend a nice evening with your loved ones, I say try it.. Their cocktails are terrific, between 9-10 euros. Prices are not exorbitant compared to the location.

There are such stylish places to spend a good night in the Old Town Area: Rhodes Island

Rock in Roll Music Dinner: The best part of this place is to sit under the huge tree outside and sip your drink…You can spend a nice evening with a lit candle on the table, accompanied by good music.

Or you can immerse yourself in the people dancing inside. There is also a food service at the venue.. Prices slightly above average. Cocktails range from 8-10 Euros.

Mozaik Bar: Mozaik is famous for its sushi and cocktails in Rhodes.. It plays foreign hit songs blended with jazz in harmony with the modern space of the place.. Cocktails vary between 8-10 Euros.

I was able to experience the nightlife in the regions I mentioned above, but there is a wide range of nightlife in Rhodes.. Other most popular regions are; Lindos, Faliraki and Lalysos. By the way, you can also choose the venues in Hippocrates Square in the Old Town.

Finally, to mention Casino Rhodes I want . On the way to the end of Elli Beach, you come across a large building.. I didn’t have time to go inside, but I want to pass on what I learned:

  • Don’t dream like Cyprus Casinos. A place where you can spend a few hours.
  • The entrance fee is 6 Euros.. Drinks are free, if you eat, there is a fee.
  • You can also use the pool in the garden.
  • There are machines downstairs.. There is also a roulette, black jack and poker table on the top floor.
  • There is also a hotel called ‘Grande Albergo Delle Rose’ inside the casino.

6. In How Many Days To Visit Rhodes Island?

As Rhodes Island is the largest among the Greek Islands, you need to spare 3-4 days.

You can spend 1 day in the Old Town and places to visit around it, and 1 day in the places I described above. You can spend it outside the city.

You can spend your remaining days on a boat tour of other islands.. I 2. day, I went to Symi Island for a day and came back.. Don’t worry, I wrote Simi Island separately.

7. Where to Stay in Rhodes & Rhodes Hotels Suggestions

Let’s talk about Rhodes Island accommodation… Before choosing your hotel, you should pay attention to the fact that the attractions are within walking distance, close to the port and taverns.

I stayed at the Alexia Premier City Hotel in New Town. I could walk everywhere easily.. The hotel was right across the beach and at the beginning of the Bar Street.

You can view all the hotels on Rhodes Island from here. But I have reserved good, medium and affordable hotels one by one for you below.

You can review them all by clicking on the hotel names:

Rhodes Island Low My Budget Hotel Recommendations:

  • Als City Hotel: This place is for solo travelers. There are beaches on both sides and it’s a 2 minute walk.. All balconies have sea view. The price of accommodation for 2 people for 1 night is 400 TL.
  • Moschos Hotel: 200 meters from Elli Beach and 500 meters from the port. Their scores are also good. Price for 1 night accommodation for 2 people is 388 TL.
  • Mango Rooms: I always recommend New Town. I would also like to suggest a hotel right in the Old Town.. Mango Rooms is 300 meters from Clock Tower. You only need to pay an extra 24 TL for breakfast.. Price for 1 night accommodation for 2 people is 307 TL.

Breakfast I got from the open buffet at Alexia Hotel: Rhodes Island

Rhodes Island Orta Halli Hotel Recommendations:

  • Alexia Hotel : This is the hotel where I stayed. Since this place is very close to Mandilara Street, I was able to discover different places to eat and drink.. The Old Town District is 10 minutes away and the beach is 2 minutes’ walk away.
  • Manousos City Hotel: The hotel, which is 2 minutes’ walk from the beach, has a friendly atmosphere.. Especially couples prefer this hotel.. Hotel Angela Suites & Lobby: Located in the middle of Rhodes, the hotel is close to major attractions.. The nearest Elli Beach is also within walking distance.. Price for 1 night accommodation for 2 persons is 563 TL.. With 8.6 points, the price of 1 night accommodation for 2 people is 565 TL.

You can stay on Rhodes Island for 6 Euros per person.. You can check the link for Rhodes Island Hotels.

Ouzo’s Birthplace Plomari, Mytilene

Published

on

By

Greece‘s greenest island Lesbos owes its green nature to water resources. Lesbos, the third largest island of the country, has lush forests, water springs, tiny canyons, endemic plants and incredible mountain views.

The island’s second largest city, Plomari, is and places that manage to stay away from the negative effects of urbanization due to its geographical location.. When you say the second largest city of the island, Plomari is not a city-like place.. The size that we can call the largest town or seaside resort in Turkey.. With its scattering mountain villages, the population of 7 thousand finds it difficult.

Plomari Square

With its pristine beaches, historical wooden houses, small taverns, plane and olive trees, coffee houses and views, Plomari journey is one of the best options to get away from it all.. No matter how crowded and active the center of Lesbos is, Plomari experiences the opposite.

The birthplace of Barbaros

As Captain-i Derya, the first captain of the Ottoman Empire Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, who was the pasha and the great admiral, was born in Plomari in 1473.. Although there is no trace of Barbaros in Plomari, this name is very important for the history of the seafaring town.

Akrasi, Ampeliko, Megalohori, Neohori, Paleohori, which is known as Plomaritohoria on the south coast of Lesbos The town, consisting of the villages of Plagia, Trigonas, has a strategic location.. Dominating Chios in Greece and Karaburun in Izmir, the town has a deep-rooted trade tradition.

Beautiful photos can be taken in the side streets of Plomari

The place where ouzo and olive oil soap were first produced

strong>

Within the Greek islands, 19. Turning into one of the most important centers of industry, commerce, production and maritime trade in the mid-century, Plomari is also the place where the Greek national drink ouzo was first produced.. Today, just like raki, the quality of ouzo is measured by the water used.. Since Plomari has the best quality drinking water sources in the geography of Greece, the aroma it adds to ouzo is noticed everywhere.. There is no production today, except for a few ouzo workshops.. Plomari, with its beaches and cultural tourism, is a region where European, American and Turkish tourists spend more time in high season.. Since it is not very well known, the region, which is not crowded and uncomplicated, is ideal for those who want to relax and have a peaceful holiday. Ouzo, which he throws, is consumed in a similar way in coffee houses today.. Drinks thrown together while playing backgammon or chatting with friends accompany the pleasant conversation.. Unlike Turkey, the coffeehouse culture in Greece also includes the offering of liquor.

ouzos produced in Plomari

Because of the ouzo production, it is between Lesbos and Plomari. there is serious competition. What makes the cute town one step ahead of this competition is the quality water source and the qualified anise grown in the region with aromatic plants.. It is possible to count Pitsiladi, Yannaçi, Varvayani and Plomari/Isidoro Arvaniti among the ouzos that have become brands in the town.

Things to do in Plomari

The so-called ‘old town’ in the center of the town, which is one of the oldest settlements on the island, is where you can witness typical Greek architecture.. Two-story, bay window, mostly wooden houses line the narrow streets.. It is essential to enjoy walking among the historical houses on quiet and calm streets without traffic noise and to breathe the atmosphere of the town.

There are many shops, shops and coffee houses around the big plane tree in the city square.. After wandering the streets, it is quite enjoyable to relax, have a drink and chat with the local people.

The beaches, each carrying the blue flag, which are chirpy in the summer season, are an unforgettable experience for those who love sea, sand and sun holidays.. Agios Isidoros Beach is shown among the few beaches not only in the region but also in Greece.

Oceanis Cafe

Make sure to try frappe, one of the cold drinks consumed by the Greeks.. Iced coffee, which is prepared by adding milk and sugar according to preference, is available in cafes and coffee houses in every corner of the town.. One of my suggestions is the Oceanis Cafe, where we sit to drink frappe with its stylish design.. Souffle is around 3€, waffle is around 4€, frappe is around 2€, Turkish (Greek) coffee is around 1.5€.. When you sit in all restaurants and cafes, a large glass of water is offered free of charge.. Get immersed in life by sitting in the cafes that stretch towards the beach and the port.

There are 3 different museums in the town that appeal to enthusiasts. Varvayianni Ouzo Museum, Lomari Isidoros Arvanitis Ouzo Museum and Soap Museum are must-sees to see the most important production tools for this town.. The hospitality and warm welcome at the museums make people happy.

Where to stay in Plomari

There are nearly 25 accommodation options in the charming town.. Among these places that can be preferred according to the budget and accommodation concept, there is also a hostel, a luxury studio.. So before you go, decide exactly what kind of place you want to stay.. I stayed at Frini Studios on my trip to Plomari. There is a special 10 percent discount for Keşfetsek at the property that got full marks from me for its hospitality and approach.. Check out my Frini Studios post for discount details and a closer look at the facility.

The Mytilene-Plomari Road

How to get to Plomari

<

Plomari is 42 km from the center of the island of Lesvos.. Due to the nature of the road, this journey takes approximately 50 minutes by private vehicle.. In order to go to this town from Turkey, it is necessary to take a ferry from Ayvalık to Lesbos.. After the ferry ride that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, the port of Lesbos is reached.. There is a municipal bus service between Mytilene and Plomari that runs 3-4 times a day.. However, without the hassle of the city bus, choose a pleasant journey by renting a car and being included in the nature view.

Plomari with its unspoiled nature, friendly people, historical structures, magnificent beaches, ouzo, olive oil and soap >, one of the most beautiful corners of Lesbos. Those planning a trip to Mytilene should spend a few days in this beautiful town.

Nepal Arrival

Published

on

By

After our tiring and intense trip to India, we got out of the chaos and arrived in Nepal, where we said “oh there is a world”. We had a comfortable journey to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a 55-minute flight from Varanasi.. Nepal is 3 hours 20 minutes ahead of Turkey and 15 minutes ahead of India.

From Victoria Subirano’s book named A teacher in Kathmandu so that you can get an idea before you come to Nepal. you can watch the movie “A Mirror in the Sky” which he freely inspired. It is the film that reveals how the education system in Nepal works, poverty and mysticism.

Kathmandu is located in the valley at the confluence of the Vishnumati and Bagmati rivers.. There are dozens of temples hidden between its streets.. While it is difficult to breathe from the exhaust fumes in its narrow streets, it is certain that you will discover many things in the company of colorful shops, peddlers, bookshops and local people.

A blend of 2 religions, It is very possible to see that Buddhism and Hinduism coexist in the country where it is intertwined, and this unity is reflected even in objects and temples.. Whether Buddhist or Hindu, everyone can easily perform their daily rituals according to their religious beliefs.. There are enough temples in the city. Someone who goes to work or wanders around the streets completes his prayer by ringing the bell in the tiny temple on the street and applying the red paint inside the temple to his forehead.. A person who has prayed has red paint on his forehead. When you see this, know that that person has prayed. Let’s not forget that the main element of flower worship. During the worship we witnessed in temples, they offer flowers to their gods and light candles.

We were surprised that the fruits we ate did not taste salty, although agriculture is the livelihood of the country.. Especially when we say that the banana is disgusting that we have not eaten in our life, we say it’s like straw, we ate a banana that tasted just like that.. We got our Nepal visa quickly and very easily at the airport for 25 USD (15 days). They came to meet us because our hotel had a pick-up service.. We arrived at our hotel without the need to take a taxi.

We wrote the details and places we visited in separate sections to be more descriptive.

But first, let’s list the must-haves and some information you need to know for those who are considering coming to Nepal:

Take a mask. Too much air pollution in the city. If you don’t want to walk in dust and smoke, take your mask.
Bring walking shoes. The roads are very bad and dusty.. If you don’t want your nails to get dirty, wear sneakers.
Those who come to Nepal by plane should get a free map from the airport.. The map you will get from the hotels is not very descriptive and guiding.
Visit the bookstores in the Thamel area. There is a wide variety of books, magazines and many products for anyone interested in books, not just travelers.
Buy LP-Nepal. If not, you can find it in Thamel.. But those who do not want to buy definitely need a guide in the temple areas.. But for me, the temples and the figures carved on the temple do not mean anything, if you only want to take pictures of them, you do not even need a guide.. They charge up to 100 rs from tourists, don’t give more than 25 rs. For your information! Locals don’t like discounts in Kathmandu.
. If you are going to shop, know that they sell you exponentially more expensive.
Although not everywhere, 25% tax is charged in many restaurants and cafes.
Have dinner at Northfield Restaurant in the Thamel area.. There will be a pleasant dinner next to a cozy wood fire accompanied by Nepali music.

Entrance fee to all Durbar squares.
Kathmandu Durbar Square : 750 rs.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square : 1100 rs.
Patan Durbar Square : 500 rs.

Eat jujudhav yogurt in Bhaktapur. We should have paid 25 rs for 3 yogurts, but because we are tourists we paid 150 rs

Eat Daal Bhaat. It’s like Indian Thali.

Eat Momo. A dish resembling a tibetan dumpling. Vegetable, buffalo meat, chicken options are available. A little spicy and bitter.

During the time we were in Kathmandu, we made kora in Buddhist temples, translated mantras and sent our wishes to the universe in the fastest way, we worshiped according to God in Hindu temples :), We photographed the most beautiful examples of Newari architecture, followed closely the funerals of the cremated dead in accordance with Hinduism, practiced their rituals, respectively, Svayambhu Mahachaitya (Monkey Temple) temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Bhaktapur, Changu Narayan Temple, Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares. Gdansk Travel Notes: Better Than Poland!

Published

on

By

There are some places that I came across somewhere and noted down and I couldn’t wait to go… Here is such a special route for me in Gdansk

I have been on my master’s degree for almost a year. Since I live in Brescia, Italy, I plan to visit various cities in Europe in combination.. I chose Gdansk first and said I’d go to Norway from here, to Alesund…

Gdansk Overview / Famous “Pencil Houses” of the City

My Plane Could Not Land in Gdansk

Here come the time, I went to Alesund and even got on the plane to Gdansk on the way back!

Oh what a plane ride…

While getting on I knew there was 55 km/h wind in Gdansk but I guessed it would be okay. But we couldn’t land on our first try, it passed, the plane was rocking like a cradle!

I Shared Those Moments We Couldn’t Land in Gdansk on Instagram @gorkemliyollarcom

An airstrip I was on for the first time in my life he had to pass, luckily the pilot managed to land in Gdansk on our second attempt…

It wasn’t a very good start, but I’m welcome Poland

Trying to go to Gdansk Glowny <

Finally Gdansk!

If the plane landed so hard, you should also think below, it’s as if I don’t come from the Norwegian fjords but went there, it’s so cold, wind, rain all together…

Since I got off at 10 pm anyway, I’m in trouble to go to my hostel and sleep You can actually reach the center directly from Gdansk Walesa airport by bus. But the buses after 11 o’clock leave at a different station called Wrzeszcz, and from there you reach the central Gdansk Glowny train station by commuter train.

That’s exactly how I got to the city and my hostel, but thanks to the Polish, who helped me while I was waiting for the bus. Thanks to a college couple…

Hello Gdansk / My First View in the City / Going to a Hostel

About Gdansk

Good morning from Gdanks!

This is Poland’ A city located on the Baltic Sea in the north of. Actually I visited all the Baltic countries and I loved it very much, but they said to Gdansk that this is Poland, you are not exactly Baltic

I mean this is Poland but Gdansk I think It’s even more beautiful than Poland…

Morning Hours / Walking By Motlawa

I’ve visited the capital Warsaw before, but now Gdansk is getting me pretty excited, let’s see what we’ll see…

Since my hostel is located at the northern end of the city, I also start walking from the riverside towards the center.

Yes, Gdansk is a typical Baltic city… I say that this city also has islands, rivers and plenty of water

The Spirit of Gdansk: Motlawa River

Our River is Motlawa!

If I follow the Motlawa river, Gdansk’ It means I can almost completely tour the city. Because the city consists of this city and the small islands it surrounds.

First of all, when I come across a beautiful Gdansk text, she says OK. um I’m in the right place…

I Love Those City Names You Must See Me To Understand The Wind…

The Famous Cute Pencil Houses of Gdansk

The first thing I want to tell you in Gdansk is actually Houses that make up the unique architecture of this city.

In fact, although you can see similar ones in other cities of Germany and Poland in general, the ones here are more characteristic.. Thin and long, crooked, colorful houses like pencils!

And to the bottom aren’t they built?

Sweetly narrowing the top floors…

I admit that I saw the aerial view of these house-filled streets and fell in love with Gdansk and I thought I should see it. . Yes, maybe I won’t be able to see it from the air, but I’ll still see it.

“The top floors, which narrow down sweetly…”

There Could Be A Modern Building Without Destroying The City!

But here it is one thing to visit and see another photo of it.. The photos did not have modern siblings of these typical Gdansk houses either!

Yes, as a civil engineer, I noticed the modern buildings in Gdansk from the very first minute. Because the modern structures here are “we are modern” They don’t smirk They went and built with a nice modern interpretation of architecture similar to their old brothers.

I can’t say I’m not impressed with this work, Gdansk can still be visited after 50 years…

Modern Gdansk Houses I Like Very Much, There Are Some More Futuristic As Well… These Also Provided a Nice Transition / Modern-Old

Is Crane One Of The Attractions In Gdansk?

Now by the riverside While walking on the promenade called “Deptak Nadwodny”, I see one of the first things that come to mind when I think of places to visit in Gdansk.

What is that Crane?

Interesting place in Gdansk Crane The River And The Crane Look Better Here

Yes “Crane” is one of the interesting structures in Gdansk. This used to be a crane building used to load ships. If I said old, of course.. century is quite old The original state is destroyed, but the current one is worth seeing.

There is the Black Pearl of the pirates of the caribbean a little further ahead, there are nice photos, try it here…

Black Pearl is also here <

Like the Harry Potter Scene: Mariacka Street!

I’m diving down the river into Mariacka Street now

Mariacka at first sight became my favorite place in this city!

I feel like I’m on the street where I’m going to choose a wand for Hogwarts. “Hagrid, where do we get the wand?”

Can it be without a photo Mariacka Street

In Gdansk, you can feel an interestingly slightly British air; mysterious buildings painted in a depressing style, staircases in front of houses small courtyards and magnificent artistic details…

These small courtyard houses on Mariacka Street are boutique shops! Local products, gifts or jewellery, whatever you are looking for. All meticulously furnished with excellent details, this place can be studied for a few hours.

Magnets Here from the Map Detailed Shops in Mariacka Are So Sweet

Across the river side of the street, the huge St.. Mary’s Church…

Undoubtedly, it is one of the most magnificent buildings in the city, you can go inside and have a look at it.. Mary’s Church Is Also Visible

The Rain Follows Me

Just at that moment I’m being caught in the rain!

If it rains, I have a solution; raincoat and my umbrella…

Now it’s time where the heart of Gdansk beats; Long Sunday!

Long Sunday With Shaking Rain

Long Sunday

Long Sunday ie Długi Targ is a classic Polish style market-square. I don’t know why these guys built such thin and long squares, but it happened

As the name suggests, this is a long market area. If I said market, it means small peddlers and generally the shops lined up along the square, better if I say square…

Long Market / Długi Targ

You can see the most beautiful of the typical cute pencil houses of Gdansk that I mentioned in the Long Market.. The ones here are a little more historical and have wonderful decorations.

Also, I think the most eye-catching structure of the square is Gdansk Town Hall.

Gdansk Town Hall with its golden inlaid tower and legendary beauty. The clock may be the most magnificent structure in this city!

The Long Market and the Magnificent Gdansk Town Hall

Gdansk, the City of Gates

My market is at one end of the street, the Golden Gate is at the riverside end there is also the Green Door…

I forgot to mention; Gdansk is the city of gates

You can often see these gates in the old city centre.. It is generally built like 2-3 storey private buildings and has arch-shaped openings from the inside and you enter and exit the square and the street from there.. Especially the Golden Gate is another beautiful one, don’t miss it…

I’ll be visiting soon The Golden Gate / The surprise is gone! The Sun Is Clearly Opening The Gates of Gdansk: This Green Gate by the River

Is it a Rainbow?

And these gates are rain shields for me! Because I’m stuck at the door leading to the river from Long Market, it’s raining heavily

But a few minutes later, “the sun?”

If there’s rain and sun, let the rainbow come !

My Rain Shield Behind the Green Door I Watch Gdansk with Rain and Sun; Delicious!

Things suddenly turn upside down in Gdansk, it’s sunny now

The weather in the city has really changed with the sun and rainbow. Those depressing houses have turned into bright spring colors, now It’s time to wander the streets and take photos a lot.

Gdansk’s Islands

I set foot on one of Gdansk’s islands from the Green Bridge in front of the Green Gate. I say island, but it is a part of the city I say so only because rivers run on both sides.

This is also a very touristic area, but it is under construction for now, that catches my attention the most. lots of mobile sweet sellers I see around. Poland’s sugary pastry desserts are in vain, definitely try it!

Here’s the Island for You Just Kidding The River Divides A Wonderful Street I Discovered, Find It “Poland’s Candy Sweets pastry desserts of all kinds”

“The cafes of this city are very nice”

I want to have a snack and rest now. Şso that I can have a little view so that I can both fill my stomach and watch the city

Eat a great boutique pancake shop called “Pan Kejk” on the Long Market I came. There is everything to eat and drink here, and you won’t believe the prices. I got a great sandwich, salad and unlimited coffee for only 15-20 zloty.

I Need to Have a Rest and Eat Something / “Pakejk” Gdansk

Time to enjoy sunny Gdansk. I pass the Golden Gate at the upper end of the Long Market and open to the modern part of the city.

There is a triumphal arch-like gate and another historical building behind the Golden Gate.. You have now reached the wide streets of Gdansk here.

Gdansk Became Another Beautiful When The Sun Comes Out The Golden Gate I Just Mentioned Gdansk Houses Also Shine Differently!

A Little Out of the City, The Environment Is Different

There is a huge modern shopping mall right across the street. It is also possible to see socialist-style buildings when you go to a little bit further in the city. Gdansk dates back to different historical periods. It is a city that has witnessed it too.

I am now finishing my sightseeing in Gdansk.. You might think that this city is an atmospheric place anyway, and all its streets and avenues are special in general, so I say go everywhere
