During my 2-day adventure in Riga, after we had satiated with both Riga’s streets, history, food and Riga nightlife, we headed to Lithuania to continue making Interrail. We’re changing the capital city of ‘Vilnius.

I say Interrail, but as I said, because Interrail does not pass in Baltics , we continue on the road by bus. Thus, the 2nd time starting from Denmark and lasting about 30 days. We’ll be halfway through our Interrail adventure.

9. How many days should I stay in Riga ?

How many days should we stay in Riga? Let me tell you directly: Riga 2 days is quite enough for you to see the places to visit in and to experience the nightlife in Riga.

I think 3 days may be too long. You can make a good plan, especially on Friday evening and returning on Sunday evening.

10. What should not be done in Riga?

• Without breathing the air of Riga Old Town
• Without walking along the Pilsetes Canal
• Trying local beers and meats
• Having fun at nightlife
• Spending a day in the Jurmala District
• Without wandering the Riga Central Market

should not return. Riga can give you whatever you want, from its beautiful city center to its parks, fascinating architectural structures and nightlife, for 2 days.

Nature, history Riga, with its nightlife and attractions, is not known for nothing as the most beautiful city in the Baltics.. Especially the Old Town area should be visited every inch.

11. What route to follow in Latvia?

There are many natural beauties to see in Riga actually. It’s not enough to just see Riga. The country has lush lands. Even half green. Especially the Rundales Castle, located in the south of Latvia, is famous for its baroque style architecture.

In addition, the city of Sigulda and Turaida (53 Km from Riga), especially 13. It is a colorful place with its beautiful architecture from the 19th century and its serene nature.. It can be reached by train and is 3 Euros one way.

12. Why go to Riga ?

• Not a very expensive country. At least after Sweden and Finland.
• Nightlife. Riga nightlife is one of Europe’s best examples of nightlife.

• Peaceful.. Even in the center of Riga there is plenty of parks and green spaces.

13. How much does it cost to travel to Riga?

Is it expensive to travel to Riga? How much is enough in Riga? mate. Riga and even the whole Baltics moderately cheap. E was Euro 3.30. There is no cheap country for us like before! But compared to many other European countries, it is at least 20%-30% cheaper.. Let me point it out.

In fact, let me roughly state the average costs that could be estimated below.. You can deviate 3 or 5 up from the amounts I have specified.. The rest is up to you.

• Transportation in Riga- Those who go to Riga by plane, generally bear a cost between 400-500 TL. In particular, THY and Air Baltic fly directly, but Ukraine Airlines also organizes flights to Riga as a connecting flight.

Transportation in Riga for; you don’t need big money. You can handle your transportation costs for 3-5 Euros. You won’t even need it in the city center.. Before you set off, I would say that you should definitely read my air ticket article.

• Eat and drink in Riga-Riga Food prices were not very expensive in. In general, you can get enough for 5-6 Euros per meal.. Alcohol prices are moderate. Generally, 1 cocktail in nightclubs is 5 Euros.

• Entertainment in Riga- Entertainment means nightlife. At least as far as we’ve seen. Especially the nightclubs are packed.

To tell the truth: It’s a lot of fun.. Need to see. to tell me. In fact, many festivals are held in Riga if you can match it in the summer.. In night clubs, the entrance can be 10-20 Euros.. 1 beer inside is 2-4 Euros, cocktails are around 5 Euros.

• Shopping in Riga- Galleria Center for Shopping, You can go to shops like Galleria Riga, Stockmann and Origo. To shop in Riga it may be nice in the boutiques in the Old Town but expensive. To see the local markets, you will need to go to the Central Market.

In general; A very comfortable Riga tour can be made by spending 40-45 Euros a day.. What I’m saying: If accommodation is 5 Euros, you can eat 3 meals at 6 Euros per meal and spend 20 Euros for entertainment.

Spending below or above this is up to you. left. My budget was around 40 Euros per day.. We did almost everything in Riga.

14. When to go to Riga?

When to go to Latvia The best way to travel to Riga It is known as the period from June to August.. In addition, many festivals are celebrated during this period.

But if you are not affected by the cold weather, you can come to Riga in December and visit the markets set up during the Christmas period.

15. What are the things that I haven’t done in Latvia but can recommend you ?

• I did not visit Rundale Palace and Bauska Castle. This place, which is famous for its Baroque architecture, is located 60 kilometers outside of the city.
• Sigulda Turaida I did not take a city tour. If you have time, you can spare 1 day.
• We could not coincide with Riga Festivals. Especially if you come to Riga in July must try to see a festival.
• We did not go to the museum in Riga. If you want to go; Let Riga War Museum, Museum of the Invasion of Latvia and Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum be your go-to museums. Finally, the Riga Bourse Art Museum is one of the must-see museums.. We are tired of museums.. That’s why we skipped. If you are not satisfied yet, I recommend you to visit these museums.

16. My warnings about Riga travel

• If you are going to travel to Riga especially in winter, you should be prepared for the famous cold weather.
• This is the land of dilemmas. Wealth on one side, hundreds of beggars in the streets on the other. Be prepared for this.
• Alcohol. they drink too much. So still be cautious. Especially female travelers.
• If you are going to take a taxi, make sure that the taximeter is always on.
• If you are going to have fun especially in nightlife, you should know that some places do a dress check at the entrances and you should be prepared accordingly.
• If you are going to use public transport in the city, you should definitely buy a ticket.. Maybe many people get on public transport without buying a ticket.. But the staff will understand that you are a tourist.. In order not to pay a fine, I say do not take public transport in Riga without buying a ticket.
• Dishes with pork. always a problem. Good to know if you are sensitive to these issues.. because they love so much. They use it in many dishes.

Nice Riga. It’s a must to see on the weekend, especially to get away from a chaotic city like Istanbul.. Latvia is also cheaper than many other European countries. Wandering the streets and enjoying the parks on a sunny summer day is fun.
